Bilal El Khannouss

There are lots of clips on YouTube of his play.
It’s dangerous to draw definitive conclusions from this, but he appears to favour taking up similar left sided positions to Eze, cutting in to use his right foot.
He looks to have good control of the ball , a good weight of pass and a few tricks.
I don’t think it would be problematic for him to take up the Eze position in the team, but he would obviously need time to settle.
Hopefully he doesn’t take stuttering penalties.

YouTube videos aren't always a great way to judge players, BUT, its clear that this kid has unbelievable feet. And he's only 21, so has time on his side.

Think it would be a pretty decent replacement.

Bruce Dyer would have looked great in YouTube clips - probably the most frustrating player i have ever seen in a Palace shirt - just saying!

Sadly I could see us getting gazzumped by Spurs now Eze looks like.his is on his way to Arsenal.

But more worrying perhaps is that there are pretty strong signals that we had to sell before we could buy - otherwise deals would have been done by now.

Clearly we have some cashflow issues which bearing in mind we have just won two trophies and are in Europe for the first time.

We’re spending half the Ese money, but will we even get half the Eze as a player?
Even with all the data science around, transfers are still quite the gamble. With the Olise money we were never going to get as good a player; Sarr was a success but Nketiah, is basically a sub to rest Mateta and a Conference league starter - if he was fit. Kamada only gave us a few good games, albeit important ones
We were better than average under Dougie, but need to maintain that level long term

For 3 seasons minimum Mateta was the sub, don't write Nketiah off yet. Some players take time to develop, let's hope that finisher we saw at Arsenal re-emerges

The consensus from Leicester fans seems to be that he has lots of potential, but he's not ready to be relied on as a PL regular yet. Given how reliant we were on Eze for scoring and creating chances that is a big concern if we don't bring anyone else in. Of course, the hope is that in a better team he'll have more opportunity to shine.

My gut feeling is if we sign El Khannouss we'll also look to sign a more experienced player either on loan or short-term contract, partly to ease his transition but also because of AFCON. Who that would be I haven't the foggiest.
