Bilal El Khannouss

I'm sorry i don't accept this. Yes we have clearly got longer payment terms and some of the money is in add ons, so not guaranteed, but to pay c50% more than the widely reported £22.5m release clause, only a few weeks after it expired seems very odd.

It has desperation written all over it.

We knew there would be loads of interest in Eze this summer so surely we must have had a short list of options, even if we didn't want to buy until the Eze deal was concluded.

This week we have bid for a FC Brugge player a day or so before they have a Champions League qualifier and are considering a bid for Tyler Dibling a week after Everton had a £40m offer rejected. Our recruitment this summer has been woeful
You can accept what you like. Release clauses can come with having to pay the full fee immediately.
I can't comment on the quality of our recruitment generally because the window is still open, and I don't know what has gone on behind the scenes or the precise financial limitations we have.

Neither do you.

Obviously, I'm sure we were all hopeful of retaining our best players and improving the squad.

I reckon this is just filling in the blanks with guess work. It looks clear that a deal could well be agreed in principle but it also looks clear that no deal is even close for Eze to Spurs so, either one deal is dependent on the other happening which means Palace might walk away from this if Spurs dont come up with what we want. Alternatively, if these two potential deals are not dependent on each other we might end up with Eze AND this lad which I'd imagine will make Glasner a very happy man.

And me!

The market went bananas when Brentford paid £42m for Ouattara who couldn't get in the Bournemouth team.

Unfortunately this is a year where it seems the better value happened a little earlier in the window. For McAtee to have only just gone I expect City have Forest over a barrel in terms of a sell on clause, and Liverpool would be planning to do the same with Elliott given he hasn't moved.

We've just ended up squeezed by being in a position where clearly we have a need to sell and the assets we're trying to sell are low on contract and/or haven't sparked a bidding war between teams for whatever reason.

I agree with the release clause comment, but strange negotiating tactics to add 50% on to get longer terms. 10% i can accept.

Incidentally Leicester have PSR issues so are not in the best negotiating position, therefore, whoever did the negotiations are our side is clearly not up to the job.

I'll only accept what Stefan Boreoffson or Fabricatio Romano say. They are truly the font of all knowledge. They were Indiana Jones's first appointments when looking for the grail. Insightful and knowledgeable.
Read that and then the music popped in my head. Da da da der da….. or something like that 😂

I haven’t bit.
I’m saying that one gets in the best team 11 in the world. Sarrs not in the top 200 players in the world.

But tbf Sarr fits at Palace. Glad to have him.
I knew someone would bite. Just
look at the stats, 13 goals and 7 assists last year for Sarr. Would Olise have provided the same output for Palace regardless of his ability? For what he cost Sarr is better value for money.
