Whether it’s at the end of his current contract , after a series of extensions or earlier ( hopefully not ) OG will move on from Palace

It may come down to which high profile managers is free at that stage .

But what about Tony Popovic ?

123 games , Ex Palace Captain , previously assistant coach . We know he will be 100 % committed to the club.

He took a newly formed club , western Sydney wanderers in to win the Asian Cup in its second season , a comp no Aussie Club had won before.

Currently , Australians coach , his contract finishes at the end of the next World Cup .

He’s following on in the path forged by Ange which is also being followed by an other ex palace Aussie Kevin Muscat .

The one thing missing is time leading a European Club , which Ange did at Celtic .

My feelings are that Palace will want a proven European Coach , but it will be interesting to see where Tony goes after the World Cup.
 
My money is on Sean Dyche. He would stabilize the club after Ollie goes and get us a few 12th place finishes before it goes stale after 3 seasons and we need a change...
 
A manager with a good bit of intellect that comes accross well like glasners. Not that there are a load of thickos out there but someone who also has his confidence and drive. Personal attributes above previous honours.

Mourinho if he’s available at the time. Doubtful but hey our stature is growing. Not sure we’d have the money he’d wanna spend.

I would have said Thomas Frank, but now that Levy has gone / a dramatically reduced role / input he may not be available at the end of the season.
 
I suppose it depends on what style of play we want. If we were to stick with the current format, surely Paddy McCarthy has learned a lot under OG’s tutelage, knows everyone, a smooth transition stepping into the manager’s shoes. Unless Ollie takes him with him wherever he pops up next.

Let’s hope we win another trophy and keep Ollie interested, hopefully he will stay a while longer.

About 2 weeks ago I was engaged in conversation apropos managers and the name of Bo Henriksson entered the debate.
I was informed that he was a striker at Bristol Rovers and the players at the club at that time with Palace connections were Kevin Miller, Rob Quinn, Danny Boxall, Adam Barrett and Wayne Carlisle.

We also had a discussion about Liam Rosenior, currently manager of Strasbourg.

Yes, my fancy was tickled at the prospect of Henriksson. His profile and record would appear to be a good fit with our current style of play.

I've always been a fan of Thomas Frank, but as has previously been said, it would probably be difficult to prise him away from Spurs just yet.

I don't know how your discussion about Rosenior went, although I suspect it may have ended prematurely, a bit like his previous job.

I also hope that any suggestion of Dyche coming here is purely ironic.

Liam Rosenior was at Hull as manager for nearly 2 seasons.
In his 1st season he took up the reins after 18 League games with Hull in 21st place and they finished 15th.
In his last season he steered Hull to 7th but was surprisingly relieved of his duties and replaced by Tim Walter who lasted 17 games with Hull 22nd in the table.
