Ahamada & Rak-Sakyi

I agree but I would say I hope he earns, in Glasner’s eyes, his chance to shine.

OG seems to command 100% commitment and discipline, which is part of what has made us so competitive. There is a reason Devenny is above him and Esse in the pecking order.
How can you manage anything without that?

Lets be honest, he's never going to play in the first team. I know romantically we want him to, but he played 1 90 mis for Sheffield last season. He's just not at the level.
Palace were probably disappointed he didn’t get more game time last season. He definitely needs it. The fact they turned down offers for him suggests they still think he has a future with us. No one from the championship took him on loan this time so I suppose the hope is he gets regular game time in Turkey to get him match fit and toughen him up a bit. The ball is in his court to apply himself and come back with a season still on his contract.

Arsenal have a 15 year old in the first team, Liverpool a 16 year old, Michael Olise was 18.

Imo you have to catch them just right, or they are lost, in our system of endless loans out they just disappear.

Mustapha, Rak-Saki should be on the first team bench, but post Ebs we prefer average players like Devenny.

You do need brilliance, that something extra.

SP says we will be more 'broadly-based' but it looks like more average to me.

COYP anyway at least we have a very good coach.

😎

I agree but OGs approach is the pragmatic one. He has ultimate belief in his system and is picking the players who are the best fit - if he had access to top echelon payers he'd no doubt play them for their game changing brilliance but consistency is his game (the exception being Kamada where his faith was a mystery for a long time but has started to be vindicated).
As long as it's working it's hard to complain too much.

Agreed he couldn't keep his place in a Championship side. Apparently he thinks he should be in our first team, not sure why he would think a poor season at Sheffield United justifies that.

It's odd that he wasn't sold or went out on loan earlier, was that just click bait rubbish, did our club say no or did he say no?

A lot of good players go to Turkey and flop, in his case it's more about him proving he can do it. I can see him leaving at the end of his contract and being picked up by a Championship club.

In the meantime I hope for his sake I hope he has a great season.

JRS couldn't hold down a place at Sheffield United last season and didn't really impress in their games shown on tv.
He's got two tricks - one where he cuts inside and has a shot with his left foot, the other where he steps over the ball and goes on the outside and either crosses or shoots with his right foot.
Both can be effective and he has an eye for goal.
At present though his weaknesses seem to outweigh his strengths.
His game doesn't appear to have matured or developed in the last year or so.
I don't see a future for him at Palace, at least under Glasner.
His loan move to Turkey seems an odd one, in particular if there was concrete interest from European clubs.
It's too soon to write him off completely, but at this stage he should be playing regular senior football and making a positive impact on games.

I meant interest from British clubs.

For a place in our front three he would have been behind Sarr, Pino, Devenny, Kamada, Uche, Nketiah (when fit) and Esse. So not going to play. Didn’t pull up any trees in the Championship. Shame but at the end of the day he’s not shown he’s good enough for Premier League level or our first team squad
