2 points to stay up

When Oldham won the last three games similar sentiments were expressed a bit like cornering a rat a team in trouble will find a pair out of the blue and come out fighting no one not even a spurs fan gave them a prayer of winning yesterday!
I'm reasonably calm but in a weeks time i'm having a look to see where the nearest church is.
And ironically our last two games that Oldham season were against Man City and Arsenal 😳

to catch us, West Ham must either get 3 straight wins, ( or get 2 wins + a Draw meanwhile thumping somebody 10-0 )...... Meanwhile us losing all of our remaining games with a big goal Difference.

and all of this simultaneous with Spurs getting 2 wins or better......from their last 3 games.

and also Nottm Forest to close the 4 point gap with us. They probably will, but not simultaneously with all of the above also happening.

Our Prem survival is already 99% ok - even for all you Oldham pessimists. Our prem Form is dire. Our relegation in 2027 is looking highly likely.

Agree with the first 2 paragraphs. Not sure agree with the last. 2 defeats don’t make for dire form

Is that what it has come to after 100m+ has been spent, hoping the rubbish below us, stay rubbish, if we don't win the Conference, worst season for a long time, talk about after the lord mayors show.
Or we win a trophy stay up and keep building and have more investment ,
nothing positive about your post , you do tend to look at things one dimension about palace alot , you would be no good in a crisis coperal Jones

Spot on.
Let's be clear: if the team we fielded today was our strongest, we'd be relegated by Christmas. Was the idea that when the first team appeared in the second half we would suddenly save the game? Bournemouth is a very decent side! Totally unprepared. In any case, this idea of squad rotation has come very late to Glasner. He spent most of the season REFUSING to rotate with the result that the same thirteen players got totally knackered. Then we had the famous match when the bench was full of 'kids' that the manager had no intention of fielding anyway. And all this for a two-bit, third rate European competition that we shouldn't have been playing in anyway. So if we win that and get relegated, how glorious is that?
Too much written here about how bad Spurs and West Ham are. We have taken our eye off the Premiership ball. Don't rely on getting a point from Arsenal at home last game of the season because it won't happen.
If we win the Conference and qualify for the Europa, it's deja-vu next season. That is the only chance of European competition (and what a double -edged sword that is) despite all the hype about 'we're only four points off sixth place' of a few games ago.
Enjoying the conference league then 😂

We all need to calm down. If we lose to Everton and West Ham beat Arsenal then I might start to worry but unlikely for West Ham to win.

I am finding some of the comments of people not wanting to be in Europe. I would rather have a chance of a trophy than another mid table finish and nothing happens.

When we were kids did we dream of mid table finishes. I suspect not more likely trophies and winning goals at Wembley

We're going to win the Conference League and finish 17th. Big reset needed in the summer but the 2 teams already promoted + whoever wins the playoffs won't have the quality to stay up IMO

If we're still in the mix then so are Forest.
4 points behind us and away to Chelsea today with Man U, Bournemouth and Newcastle still to face.

Personally I think we will both survive and I hope this will confirmed for us by the weekend.
Them I'm less fussed about.
Chris Wood is back from Injury and they are a much improved side because of that, they could win all three with him involved.

Yep. Given our goal difference is much better than West Ham worth an extra point if the unthinkable happens. Personally I expect us to pick up one or 2 draws and West Ham to lose against Arsenal
That would soon get eroded though if we carry on our current league form, our goal difference just from our last two games is -5

Time will tell, i wish i had your optimism,

I agree with your central point about aspiration and having ambition, but nonetheless I have found this season not particularly enjoyable in terms of flat performances - which I think are partly attributable to the Thursday/Sunday cycle of games.
You only have to look at our results and performances after our European fixtures.

I may be alone in this , but I can't (and never could) get excited about our participation in the Conference, where in fact we've reserved time for some of our most inept performances.

With a more limited fixture and less testing schedule there's no reason why we couldn't have been pushing for top 6 like Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford have been doing.
There's an argument that this is more aspirational and more of a feat than trying to win a Micky Mouse competition against second rate European teams where we were made favourites before a ball was kicked.
I accept there is a counter argument that many clubs would swap positions with us in terms of a probable chance of winning a European competition.
I just don't find it particularly persuasive when I look at what , in my view, has been a poor season from us.

But a repeat of administrators and not having a pot to go in worries me a lot more, mid table is a platform for improvement falling through the various leagues like a vagrant on meths is particularly unpleasant ask any Accrington Stanley fan who is old enough to vote.

Sad to say it but I think we now could get 2 points max out of our last 4 games, 1 or maybe 2 draws.
I dont think we will get caught by Spurs or West Ham but its too close for my liking. Does anyone else agree? Poor return so far from the £80m spent in January.

Much as I’ve been banging on about us not going down, 33 years later could history repeat itself??

We beat Ipswich at home last home game and were celebrating staying up at the player of the year do that night 😳
The celebration before being mathematically safe was stupid, was at that game though and joined in the celebrations. But we are in a much better position this time around as not 1 but 2 teams need to win their last 2-3 games to overtake us. The odds of that happening arent that great. West Ham have gone off the boil just at the wrong time are in great peril. Wish Bowen had chosen us over the serial cockney complainiers 5 years ago.

people going on about west ham’s goal difference superior , this is all that needs to happen for us to go down

West Ham 1-1 Arsenal
Palace 0-2 Everton

Brentford 1-0 palace

Newcastle 0-2 Weat Ham
Man City 4-0 Palace

West Ham 3-1 Leeds
Palace 1-3 Arsenal

That sends us down on goals scored it’s not unreasonable when put like that is it
