Summer Transfers 2025 (rumours and incomings)

It’s easy, and often justified to dismiss transfer speculation as ‘clickbait,’ but a couple of stories have caught my attention in recent days.

One concerns Kamada being linked with a Turkish club.
It might seem strange, a Glasner favourite who was showing encouraging form, but on the other hand (like Guehi) with a contract expiring at the end of the season.
Perhaps the business imperatives kick in with a view to realising some value on Kamada.

The other story concerned a Franca return to Brazil on loan.
However, buried in the story was that we were prepared to sell but couldn’t agree a fee so an initial loan is under consideration.

The deal to sell Edouard has stalled, there’s no apparent progress on the sale of JRS and there doesn’t seem to be any takers for Ahamada.

It seems to me that one of the reasons we have been ‘passive’ in the market is that we haven’t been able to shift players.
As others have pointed out, it would not be prudent( and we may not be able to fund) replacements for Guehi and Eze before they leave.

However, I’m beginning to wonder if we can add even to the squad at all if we don’t raise monies from the sale of Guehi and/or Eze.
I suspect something has happened to the financials meaning that the club could no longer honour the promise to support Glasner early in the market .
There has to be a reason for our lack of activity when you look at the gaps in the squad and the injuries that we are carrying.
We haven’t even exploited the loan market.

Glasner yesterday referred to ‘missing targets’ .
Some of those can be put down to player preference for other clubs or ‘crazy prices’ , but I do wonder if we have to raise funds first before buying .

Someone made what I think is a very valid point elsewhere. Forest are on a transfer spending spree at the moment. However the quality of players they are signing is far higher than they could usually hope to attract. Definitely they are benefiting from pull of playing in the europa league. Unfortunately the prospect of playing in the conference is not attractive to players.

100% nonsense.

Forest has never been shy at spending since being promoted they have spent every season over 100m.

They have sold around 120m worth of players so far this season and currently spent around 140m.

Nothing to do with Europa League.

You mention higher quality you don't know this none of the players they have signed have proven to be top Premier league players (Not saying they wont be but un proven at this stage even Mcatee)

I have no idea of how good or not Christos Tzolis would be for us and I'm not criticising anyone for expressing doubts or anything critical as they may be right for all I know.

But for the benefit of knowing I thought it would be interesting to see how well, Tzolis, a 23-year-old Greek winger did last season and at what level.

Summary of Christos Tzolis’s 2024/25 Season PerformanceBased on the available data from the 2024/25 Belgian Pro League season, here’s a summary of Tzolis’s performance as a forward/winger, primarily playing as a left winger, relative to his position in the league:

      • Shot-Creating Actions: 4.30 per 90 (77th percentile).
      • Progressive Carries: 4.22 per 90 (85th percentile), showing his ability to advance the ball.
      • Touches in Attacking Penalty Area: 7.98 per 90 (99th percentile), highlighting his presence in dangerous areas.
      • Progressive Passes Received: 11.82 per 90 (95th percentile), indicating he was frequently involved in attacking plays.
    • Summary: Tzolis performed exceptionally well compared to other wingers, excelling in goal-scoring and creative metrics, placing him in the top percentiles for attacking output. His defensive contributions (e.g., tackles: 1.04 per 90, 31st percentile) were less notable, as expected for a winger.
  • Sofascore Ratings:
    • Tzolis had an average Sofascore rating of 7.4 in the Belgian Pro League, ranking him 14th out of 171 attackers in the league. His monthly ratings ranged from 6.9 to 8.5, with peaks in May (8.5) and July (8.2), reflecting consistent high performance.

  • Context Relative to League Position:
    • Club Brugge’s Standing: Club Brugge finished 2nd in the 2024/25 Belgian Pro League regular season and competed in the Champions’ Play-Offs, where Tzolis contributed 8 goals and 5 assists in 10 matches.

    • Positional Comparison: As a left winger, Tzolis’s output (16 goals, 9 assists in the Pro League) was exceptional compared to other wingers in the league. For context, his 0.50 goals per 90 minutes and 0.78 goal involvements per 90 were among the highest for attacking players in the Belgian Pro League, especially considering Club Brugge’s high-pressing, attacking style under coach Nicky Hayen. His metrics suggest he outperformed expectations (xG of 9.6 vs. 8 goals in the regular season), though he slightly underperformed his xG overall when including play-offs.
  • FootyStats Insights:
    • Tzolis ranked 1st in Club Brugge’s squad for goals scored in the 2024/25 Pro League season (16 goals). His 0.50 goals per 90 minutes placed him among the top scorers in the league, though exact positional rankings are not specified. His penalty conversion rate (6/7, 85.7%) further highlights his reliability in high-pressure situations.
Conclusion
Christos Tzolis had an outstanding 2024/25 season in the Belgian Pro League, performing at an elite level relative to other wingers and attackers. His goal-scoring (16 goals), assist tally (9), and advanced metrics (e.g., 98th percentile for non-penalty xG, 99th percentile for touches in the attacking penalty area) indicate he was one of the top-performing wingers in the league. Sites like Sofascore, FBref, and FootyStats confirm his high output, with Sofascore ranking him 14th among attackers and FBref placing him in the top percentiles for key attacking metrics. His contributions were pivotal for Club Brugge’s 2nd-place finish and strong play-off performance, marking him as a standout player in his position.

But really we should compare him in the champions league matches he played in....this is the summary from that.

Christos Tzolis had a solid but not spectacular 2024/25 UEFA Champions League season. His 4 assists in 12 matches rank him among the top wingers for playmaking (92nd percentile), and his shot volume (2.51 per 90) and touches in the attacking penalty area (4.61 per 90) show he was heavily involved in Club Brugge’s attack. However, his single goal from 26 shots (3.8% conversion rate, underperforming xG by -1.1) indicates room for improvement in finishing. Compared to his exceptional domestic form (16 goals, 9 assists in the Pro League), his UCL output was less prolific, likely due to the higher competition level. Overall, Tzolis was a key creative force for Club Brugge, with his assist tally and chance creation standing out, but his goal-scoring efficiency lagged behind his domestic performance.

why be so rude?

The poster makes some very valid points. Europa League may not be the only reason, as i suspect the sell of Elanga has also been a significant factor too. They have also kept Gibbs White despite Spurs supposedly meeting his release clause.

Have a bit more respect for other views/opinions
