Eze to spurs?

I’d be a bit more disappointed if he goes to Spurs than Arsenal but as much for him as anything as he deserves better.

For us I just hope we get good money and are able to reinvest it well. He leaves a Palace legend

Spurs will have a good season with Thomas Frank. He is a good coach. I’d have been happy with him at palace one day. I do not expect them to dominate the champions league but they will finish top 8 in the prem
Top 8, is that an upgrade, they will be in the Conference league while we are in the Europa 😎

Why would a player turn down playing Champions League football next month in the hope that a team that has Rio Cardines and Odsonne Edouard on its bench might be in the Europa League next year?
Because they are the all time losers, think the are a big club, don't deliver, the only thing big about the Spuds are there big mouth fans, last time the won the league was 65 years ago, no domestic cup for 17 years, and 1 losing final in the history of the Champions/European cup, not the history of a big club, all mouth and trousers.

Naturally, will be very sad to see Ebs go. He’s been such a key player for us. He’ll always be a Palace hero and I wish him every success. Spurs feels a bit underwhelming since I expect us to finish above them this season. He’ll get a single season in the CL which he won’t realistically get with us. It would be easier to take if it was Arsenal.

The sad reality is we are a stepping stone club. For promising youngsters, seeing players like Olise, Eze, Guehi and Wharton move onto to bigger clubs/England will make us an attractive next move. It hurts now but will work in our favour in future.

No individual is bigger than the club and we will always lose our big fish to a bigger pond. One would assume this scenario was expected and a suitable replacement is already lined up.

My guess is that Eze & Guehi will be replaced by Elliot & Diomande. If so, we’ll have two younger players on long term deals, hopefully with a bit of change.

Why is Steve parish letting the squad get smaller & smaller and this disruption before the season has even started and next Thursday.
Also all these gossip pages saying spurs offering less than the 68m release clause so why are we possibly selling for less??
There’s no way Oliver Glasner is going to sign a new contract at the way the clubs being run at mo.

Don't even get the release clause. Bending over for Spurs. Off the pitch, we just aren't a serious club

I'm not happy with it either if true but maybe it depends if he has a gentlemens agreement with parish or how unhappy he is.

the dailly mail have reported that eze has asked not to play but deal is not imminent. So maybe he thought he was going spurs but they never came up with the money.

Eze has 2 years left on his contract, I doubt Parish will let Guehi and Eze leave in the same window. as Eze's release clause has expired the price should be £80m minimum, which I doubt spurs would pay.

I read today that Ebs has asked not to play tomorrow as he’s “not in the right headspace”.

I assume this means he’ll want to Forgo his wages until he gets his head sorted?

If this is true I’m disgusted and surprised in equal measure - I thought Ebs was a much better man than that.
Agreed.
It's just another way of saying he's refusing to play.
Also, it's not like we can just chuck a like-for-like replacement on.
This late in the day too 😒

I really hope that isn’t true, would sour our relationship with a legend.

Lots of clickbait rumours. Let’s wait and see what happens. It seems clear Spurs are in for him and we’ve not told them to do one but Parish isn’t a soft touch so I’d be surprised and disappointed if he accepts £55 million. Given whats happened with Guehi after the £65 million bid he may well feel he doesn’t want the same thing happening with Ebs next summer.
We can only hope Ollie is involved in the decision. He holds great store by the mood of the team and togetherness so he may have decided an unhappy Ebs is no good to him. If we get agree a deal with Leicester for his replacement before letting Ebs go and have a bundle of cash to bring in a centre back then swap Guehi for Elliot we could do ok form the deals. Then hopefully we can get on with the season.

Never underestimate the selfish greed of footballers. Loyalty was sacrificed at the alter to Sky's money. My point is made by the complete lack of testimonials you see in this day and age. After 60 years following palace I just shrug my shoulders and move on

I don't get that. His head is not in the right space because he knows negotiations have been ongoing all week and that we're obviously open to selling him.

It seems clear for whether reason we've got no transfer funds unless players depart so if a deal is close and he played and got injured there'd be a lot more moaning on here.

55 mil for Eze is an insult

Eze, was always going to have his head turned, and Palace, were never likely to not sell if the price was right. It’s just , why wait until so late in the window to look serious about it? Can only hope Parish, already has a replacement lined up.
Same applies to Guehi, in so much as replacing is concerned. Being a Palace fan in closed season is rarely much fun. Being a bit of a purest it leaves a bitter taste when after what has been achieved your best players would prefer to play against you.

He was taken off at half time, he and Leicester were so bad, my Leicester mate watched the game

Parish was trying to sell him last summer. Olise left instead.

It is what it is. He gave us the best memories a palace fan as ever had. His goal will go down in history for us and I'm sure there will be a statue at some point.

Best to go out on top anyway. He's only realistically got 3-4 years left at the top.

Great chance now for Esse to make his mark and get some game time in the conference league too.
