Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

CAS - After considering the evidence, the Panel found that John Textor, founder of Eagle Football Holdings, had shares in CPFC and OL and was a Board member with decisive influence over both clubs at the time of UEFA's assessment date.

CAS May release their full report but the above seems to suggest 25% voting rights was irrelevant in relation to the 43% shareholding.

Felt inevitable towards the end, though I was hopeful earlier on. Lessons learnt but at least we should now be alongside Fiorentina as the favourites to win this and hopefully get Europa League next season.

I'm so tired of it that, even though the decision has gone against us, I just wanted it over really. Now let's focus on signing some players and having a great season.

Again, yeah Parish probably has f**ked up here but his inability to forecast our winning the FA Cup... for the first time in our history, shouldn't condemn him nor blemish everything he has achieved for our club. We've been stitched up by administrative nonsense in an all round sh!t-show, within a sport desperately pretending to be professional whilst run by crooks and half-wits.

We won the FA Cup, the Community Shield and are preparing for a season in Europe after over a decade in the PL. It's still f**king insane to think about that contrasted to where we were.

But 'moving on' is the key part. Let lawyers deal with it, if that is at all worthwhile. I'd hate to see us further embarrass ourselves or worse ruin everything by continually b!tching and concentrating all our efforts on what at the end of the day, whilst an injustice, is hardly the end of the world.

There's a new season up ahead. We're FA Cup and Community Shield holders, we have a manager sent from heaven, arguably our best team ever, we're in Europe and there's plenty to be excited about.

We have to get on with it at some stage or we'll end up the football club version of the homeless fella drinking Special Brew, telling everyone how unfair life had been to him.

Excellent post. Regarding Parish I'd just say look at where the club was in 2010 and where it is today. Parish has done a fine job thus far. Whether he felt the need to challenge UEFA's ruling to explore every avenue, or now sue Textor is his prerogative, but it shouldn't overshadow the achievements on the pitch.
And on top of that, the Conference is winnable, although I would like us to make a few strides up the league table if at all possible.

Parish has and had no control over Dextor so could do absolutely nothing about the position Palace were in on March 31st and neither could the other shareholders. The fault lies entirely with Dextor who was the only shareholder who had sufficient shares in another club for there to be a potential problem.

Talk of, oh well Parish made a mistake etc. is entirely false.

A 43% holding that wasn't actually all of his. Even Michelle Kang at Lyon technically owned some of Palace too.

Hope we successfully sue Textor, hope Eagle Holdings tank, hope the fat greek succumbs to his morbid obesity after Forest get knocked right out. Hope they get relegated soon too, never to return.

It's like the worst VAR decision in history, I bet Clattenburg was head judge

If anything I'm just glad this is over.
Hopefully now we can get some signings in and prepare for next season.

I fully believe that those at the club are not wallowing in their misery but getting into fifth gear instead.

Furthermore, those saying Parish not to blame - on the contrary, Parish is club chairman, in the position to ensure the correct running of the club and compliance with all the various rules and regulations. Accept that this time it got away from him and move on.
Nonsense. No shareholder can direct another to do anything with their shares. This wasn’t the fault of either the club or its Chairman.

I think that there may be another downside to this. I suspect that some players we had in mind to buy are no longer within our new budget. Plus, some players we hoped to hang onto may now have to be sold/will want to leave.

Yes, we have still got the conference league but I don't think that outweighs the knock on effects of this CAS decision. Thursday and Sundays may well become a chore rather than a celebration.

Anyway, no-one can take away the fact that we won the FA Cup and Community Shield. I hope that is what I will remember most from this time.

sorry my friend, but that is utterly naive, the voting percentage was understandably considered irrelevant, most power is informal not formal, 51% ownership is near enough unanimous, and 43% is clearly decisive, we f*cked up, and now the balance of our season can be more on the league than Europe and a gentle introduction might be a good thing, although disappointing now

We had to appeal £1-£2m is small fry compared to the potential extra income if we had won the appeal, circa £20m. Bet youre only saying this now as we lost the appeal.

Again that is incorrect.

we do not get extra 20m for just being in the different comp that figure is if you win and sorry to say be realistic we was never going to win Europa League but should win Conf.

Having anything whatsoever to do with legitimising a thoroughly corrupt organisation like UEFA by playing in the Conference League (which UEFA’s own so called rules state we shouldn’t be competing in anyway) makes us also an unwitting party to their own corruption.

UEFA should be ashamed of themselves! Nottingham Forest should be ashamed of themselves! Olympique Lyonnais should be ashamed of themselves! And CAS should be ashamed of themselves!
