Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

I'd be more willing to accept the decision if UEFA weren't completely inept and if that fat beardy bloke wasn't involved.

This whole UEFA taking a stand against MCOs is laughable... This whole blind trust loophole was something created by them to help out their 'big club buddies' who benefit from genuine MCO structures.

It absolutely stinks and there's been so many circumstances that have gone against us, Lyon late qualification, Lyon excused of financial trouble despite being riddled with debt.

It's hard not to feel a victimised but I guess the only thing we can do is suck it up, win the conference league and stick it to UEFA with some pre game protests.
Pre game protests, mid game protests with particular focus on Jaba the Hutt at our first home match.

We lost the appeal but as others have said, time to move on. I hope the chants and displats against UEFA whilst justifiable up until today's appeal outcome, will stop now. Otherwise its just negative energy.

This is clearly the best ever time to be a Palace supporter with lots to look forward too and recent success to enjoy. Let's not let UEFA steal our thunder and spoil it for us, being in Europe should note seen as a punishment even if its the Conf league.

No, keep the protests going. When injustice is served you need to keep the problem in the media. The 96 is still being talked about and whilst our demise is nowhere near as serious it might get some momentum and eventual changes in football governing bodies.

Surprise, surprise. We haven't heard from that "I know what I am talking about" guy who said there was no way our lawyers would have taken on the job if they didn't know we were going to win as it would ruin their reputation. It was an absurd argument even at the time
Anyways, no trophies for 100 years, so three should come along at once. Either the Conference or a domestic trophy will do fine

Bang on the money.

I have always said all along the rules are a farce, the March 1 deadline and blind trust approach are a complete nonsense. What matters is whether there would have been a conflict of interest going forwards. No of course there would not have been had we been in the Europa League with Lyon.

And absolutely on the big club. Had this been a top six club in England, a Madrid or Milan club or another club with big European pedigree UEFA would have found a compromise. I really hope we win the competition to stick it to UEFA but I fear we need more squad depth to achieve that.

Lawyers act on the instruction of the client.

Completely agree. For every home conf league match I think we need big anti UEFA tifos, boo the anthem at the beginning of every game etc etc

Furthermore, those saying Parish not to blame - on the contrary, Parish is club chairman, in the position to ensure the correct running of the club and compliance with all the various rules and regulations. Accept that this time it got away from him and move on.

Again, yeah Parish probably has f**ked up here but his inability to forecast our winning the FA Cup... for the first time in our history, shouldn't condemn him nor blemish everything he has achieved for our club. We've been stitched up by administrative nonsense in an all round sh!t-show, within a sport desperately pretending to be professional whilst run by crooks and half-wits.

We won the FA Cup, the Community Shield and are preparing for a season in Europe after over a decade in the PL. It's still f**king insane to think about that contrasted to where we were.

But 'moving on' is the key part. Let lawyers deal with it, if that is at all worthwhile. I'd hate to see us further embarrass ourselves or worse ruin everything by continually b!tching and concentrating all our efforts on what at the end of the day, whilst an injustice, is hardly the end of the world.

There's a new season up ahead. We're FA Cup and Community Shield holders, we have a manager sent from heaven, arguably our best team ever, we're in Europe and there's plenty to be excited about.

We have to get on with it at some stage or we'll end up the football club version of the homeless fella drinking Special Brew, telling everyone how unfair life had been to him.

The bottom line is Textor was never going to put his shares into a blind trust when he was trying to sell them, especially given the idea of qualifying for Europe at that time was fanciful. He had no long-term interest in Palace and was entirely self-serving. Forest fans comparing it with their situation is ludicrous as they were in the CL spots at the time and Marinakis was never really going to cede control, even if the paperwork said otherwise.

Judging by social media we seem to have lost sympathy with neutrals and I am starting to think angry tifos are just gonna look like sour grapes. It's like texting a girl that dumped you calling her names, it doesn't make anything better.

Would quite like is to take this with a stiff upper lip (publicly anyway, I think we're all miffed behind the scenes)

To what end?

Alienate the organisation who have control over European football?
I call that dumb.

We need to do our talking on the pitch. The so called ultras need to focus on supporting the team.

One last weird take. If UEFA had banned us from Europe completely do we think a CAS appeal would have got us a place back in the Europa Conference? I'm inclined to say no. Doesn't mean I think we owe a single bit of gratitude to UEFA but in essence they gave us a morsel that could also have withheld (respect given here to those that would've preferred nothing, I hear your stance and understand it).

I wonder how long it'll be before UEFA silently usher in an updated set of rules after this monumental f*ck up.

Their current strong stand against MCOs:

Set up a bullshit*t blind trust and we'll turn a blind eye.

Remove the offending shareholder from your club and we'll remove you from the tournament.
