Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

I think the club may be trying to get a compromise out of UEFA. If we win and CAS find in our favour, I am not sure how easy it would be to change the situation for either us or Forest. So, here’s my compromise-we play in the Conference with a bye into next year’s Europa League. To give us an incentive, if we win the Conference our Europa League entry is upgraded to a Champions League place. Forest can’t complain as they keep their Europa League place and Palace just get a delayed entry into our rightful competition, with an upgrade if we do well. Simples!
That'll do lol.

You know what, f**k it. If the decision goes against us UEFA can shove the Europa, we’ve won the FA Cup and Community Shield.

Bring on the Conference League, this team will win it on the pitch. I have long since lost respect for UEFA as an organisation and will proudly sing F**k UEFA at every game.
If we win the Conference, UEFA will change the rule that that means qualification for the Europa the following year

I think most of us now are at the point of "Come What May".
All this fiasco has done is prove what a corrupt and unfit organisation UEFA are - they have etched away at any reputation or glory they may once have had. No matter what rulings occur and no matter what minor mistakes Crystal Palace made, we can still walk away from this with our heads held far, far higher than anybody else involved - and that's before you count our two trophies.

I honestly can't see us being reinstated to the Europa League, and even though UEFA don't come across as the most credible organization, overturning the rule book (which they drew up in the first place) at arbitration seems a step too far. Of course I could be wrong. Intrigued to find out CAS's judgement on the matter later today.

Palace have proved their pedigree with Yesterday's performance. I do wonder if there are thoughts going through minds.

Europa League is correct place
Palace likely to win Conference
Conferencde could be hard as teams try to stop our players - yesterday's score - yellow cards Palace nil, liverpool three.

I agree - the rules are clearly set out relating to multi club ownership and Textor was in breach of them at the cutoff date before we qualified for Europe. What happens subsequently is largely irrelevant. Our best chance of getting back into the Europa league was if Lyon got demoted due to their financial issues and this did not happen.

Agree.

I think we'll stay as we are, but UEFA will be told to apply the rules more consistently going forwards, and be recommended some other changes to implement.

And what punishment did Lyon receive from the French FA for financial irregularities? Points deduction? Fine? If nothing at all, then their financial irregularities won them a Europa League place; hardly a punishment…

Surely punishing a club because a shareholder with only 25% voting rights was in technical breach of a rule on an arbitrary date, well before qualification for a competition, is itself a breach of natural justice, when the club had no control over their actions?

Banning Textor from any future involvement in clubs associated with UEFA might be justified, but not punishing Palace.

I thought you might have been impressed by the speed with the French FA acted. Here in England we still await the verdict in the case against Manchester City's 115 alleged financial irregularities...

Massive difference

Indeed Lanzo.

I really am of the opinion that if it goes against us, F--k 'em, we won two trophies and we'll have fun in Europe regardless. Will only serve to expose UEFA for what they are.
I agree. Make a couple of disappointed noises and move on without looking like a load of entitled moaners. Then win the Mickey Mouse competition and play in the tin pot one next year.

Sky were reporting we could sue Textor for damages if the decision goes against us today, not sure how liable that is but has sounded all along that he didnt really care and just wanted to sell.
Ha ha! Really? How would that work? Apparently Textor had no say! So on the one hand he's not involved in the decision making process yet on the other it's his fault for being around and holding a sharehold interest. Perhaps he took too long to sell his shares...

Well seeing as Textor and Textor alone was the only one able to put his shares in a blind trust it is on him. I dont see how Parish is taking any blame in this, mainly from opposition fans who are clueless, so Textors negligence has potentially cost us millions.

How is this consistent with our argument that we aren't a MCO?
