Time to start doing Business Steve..!!

When a player is that bad and never even played, you can’t really count him as a player we haven’t got available now, 🤣 you can’t miss what you never had in the first place. I always thought he was shite at Arsenal, they only played him when they were desperate. I couldn’t believe it when we signed him, how he’s managed to blag a living at the elite level of football is beyond me
His ability had nothing to do with not playing. He fell out with Glasner, end of.

I have a few Arsenal mates who thought he would do a decent job for us and could not understand why we never picked him. I’ve never been a fan of his but it doesn’t mean he was useless otherwise he would never have had as many appearances as he did for Arsenal.

I've seen mention of Clyne as probably being called on - while ! think he has been a great player he must be 34 at least! he's been at the club on and off for over 15 years.
Well be wheeling him on in a wheelchair soon.
I cant believe there isnt more money available to invest.
Get Grealish in on a loan!
Given our budget made sense for clyne to get another year as we know what we get which is a 6/7 out of 10 player week in week out. Don’t think grealish is answer but if a loan then can see he may add something

Probably 6 or 7 years ago I heard that Alan Smith was an admirer of Holding.
Roy Keane on the other hand believed that Holding was short of pace, gets too close to attackers and can be found wanting on the turn.

I'm assuming that Parish is waiting for Monday to determine the quality of player we need to sign. Obviously, the Europa is a higher quality competition.

We don't do bidding wars, so we tend to mop up players who are still looking to move late in the window anyway.

Clearly we need a better squad of 25 so more signing is a must. Presumably, it's just a question of the pond we fish in.

We must get a striker, with Nketiah injured, even if it's a loan, and more midfield with Franca and Doucoure looking like they might never return. That is minimum.
I'd like to see another striker comparable to Mateta come on board, but that won't be cheap.

Managers very rarely fall out with good players who they need. I’m sure it would’ve been easy for Ollie to banish Holding to training with the youngsters for his poor attitude because as premier league players go, he was awful.

Both Mihailo Ivanovic (Millwall) and Josh Maja (WBA) have their admirers.

If we are in the Europa, big if, and win it, a very poor Spurs won it, everybody would sign new contracts.

I am not on 'Speed Dial' nor do I get a running commentary.
😛 😀
Fair enough.

I had a look at the show reels.
Ivanovic looks strong, but has he any pace? Maja scores from one yard out, but do we provide crosses for his kind of player?
I'll leave it to the experts.

Apropos Maja, I am informed that his first touch and link play is impressive and that he has the ability to get his shot away in tight areas.

Sunderland's Eliezer Mayenda also has his admirers - he has just signed a 5 year contract.

We were linked with him a season or so ago when Freedman was on the scene.
I've only seen limited amounts of his play and he looked mobile and a decent finisher.
I'm conscious though that in his conference yesterday Glasner made specific reference to the need for 'quailty' signings.
This to me denoted proven players at Premier League level.
Is Maja the real deal or another Rhian Brewster?

As a supporter since 1955, then aged 8, I’ve seen an extraordinary array of managers come and go, none of them a patch on Glasner.

His man management, strategic competence and hitherto calm public posture have elevated the club to new heights evidenced by the Cup and League results last season. All of this was achieved despite the hopelessly late transfer completions of this time last year and the resulting torrid start.

Is it any wonder that, at last, the frustration of this likeable, honest high achiever in now reliving the transfer nightmare is beginning to show?

His now likely departure, whether soon or a season on, will have already deterred some possible incoming talents from arriving while reducing the willingness of our few real stars to turn their backs on tempting offers elsewhere.

Is the situation beyond rescue. I sure hope so. I fear not.

When people come out with comments like this it sums up how not very bright they are.

You could say the same for FA Cup and us winning it.

It's simple what happened last season is not this season many different variables and the Europa League has a lot of tough teams in it (Did you not consider that United & Spurs did so poor in the league due to competing in that I remember same happening to West Ham when they won Conf which was harder that year then it is now)

Would be content with that, but would hope that the attacking player is also a strong physical player who can hold players off and allow moves to build.

I think our game drops off a little when JPM is not on the field.

His presence tends to draw defenders leaving gaps for Eze, Sarr and Munoz to exploit.

Doesn't mean the attacking player has to be a centre forward, but be should have a presence to similarly draw defenders.
Why loans - when we have money for perm transfers..??

As I said before loans ain’t progression..!!

So we’ve just won the FA Cup and qualified for Europe for the first time - and spend £3M and 3 loans and everyone is happy with that.!!

That ain’t even competitive in Div 1 - let alone the Prem and Europe..!!

🙈

Loans are handy enough if you can get the right player. They've helped us but also feel a bit of let down when we can't sign the ones who work out. That's been our issue.
Pretty sure we'd all have been happy enough to sign Gallagher and Chalobah but the deals weren't there. Gallagher didn't want to sign for us as far as I'm aware - even if we did try. Chalobah was needed by Chelsea and he seems to prefer them, although it feels like they treated them both poorly enough over the years.

Wrong again, winning the Europa gives you 26m a Champions League spot with a guaranteed 30m up front, and an extra 20m for reaching the group stages, try finding out thing before rabbiting

Don’t need a striker - Nketiah is only a relatively short term injury - in the interim Sarr could play there if JPM needs to go off.

We need a left footed wide player for the right as strange as that may seem - but we play inverted wide men 10’s, another CDM and a centre half.. So 3 quality signings..!!
