Time to start doing Business Steve..!!

Leaving aside the squabbles and point scoring it's clear that we're not where we should be or want to be.

Glasner highlighted the 'passive ' nature of our transfer dealings, our extensive long term injury list and how many games we have to play in the next few weeks.
Sure the window is still open but it's clear that squad depth is a concern for Glasner in the opening weeks.

As others have pointed out we can put out a strong first team but it's no longer an 11 man game with usually around 3 subs made per game.

My heart will sink if we see Edouard come on for JPM or JRS for Eze.

And the possibility of further injuries can't be ruled out to stretch the squad further.
Let's hope we have some fortune in this regard.
And then he scores the winner on Sunday 😂

I think we will sign or loan 3 players before the deadline, not big signings, squad players, RWB, CD and a dual attacking player, Sterling style, but not him

Implying more why would he stay? Not backed by the board, despite delivering a trophy.
I see Wet Spam as a sideways move, but they do tend to back their managers. He would have a bigger budget and possibly see it as a chance to win another piece of silverware?
Let’s be realistic our squad beyond the first 16-17 players is mediocre. He deserved getting a couple more players in early, especially when you consider the injuries.
By the way, hadn’t been drinking but just consumed a 750ml bottle of Green Jacks Baltic Trader. A 10.5% imperial stout. Highly recommended!
Agree would be sideways move. Not sure if West Ham do consistently back their manager, their fans aren’t happy

You’re right we do need some additions, although I don’t buy into we only have 17 players. We need to play some of the younger players as well

Thanks for the tip on green jacks

Would be content with that, but would hope that the attacking player is also a strong physical player who can hold players off and allow moves to build.

I think our game drops off a little when JPM is not on the field.

His presence tends to draw defenders leaving gaps for Eze, Sarr and Munoz to exploit.

Doesn't mean the attacking player has to be a centre forward, but be should have a presence to similarly draw defenders.

Agreed, another Sarr would be good, a bit of strength but mobile too, a real bargain if you look back on it.

I've seen mention of Clyne as probably being called on - while ! think he has been a great player he must be 34 at least! he's been at the club on and off for over 15 years.
Well be wheeling him on in a wheelchair soon.
I cant believe there isnt more money available to invest.
Get Grealish in on a loan!

I have not heard any mention of Grealish.
I believe his remuneration is £300K a week !

Absolutely and I’m not in the school of thought that says Clyne and Lerma are decent stand ins. Lerma is adequate and that’s about it.

If you play with 3 centre backs you need 5 specialists plus Lerma. We have lost Holding, Chalobah and Riad to injury. Bare bones at the start of a season is not a good look.

I fully expect us to buy a CH but if we are waiting for Guehi money to do it then we need two so I hope they have them lined up.
Holding never played for us in the league. Chalobah was a loan to cover Richards injury & only played half a season. Riad, agreed. Bare bones for the start of last season as well.

Are you serious thinking you need to tell me Holding never played? The point is he was another CH that was available if Glasner had wanted to use him and now he has gone.

Chalobah was missed when he went and we played several games with Clyne at right side CH. We were a bit short last season but with Ward retiring too there yet is another body out the door without replacement.

That, from an Arsenal fan & bbc reporter. Wouldn't trust a single thing he says about us.
Ok, how about this from Palace supporting journalist Ed Aarons.
I watched Glasner's press conference and clearly heard the message.
If posters want to ignore reality about Glasner's concerns re the last 2 summer windows that's their choice.

When a player is that bad and never even played, you can’t really count him as a player we haven’t got available now, 🤣 you can’t miss what you never had in the first place. I always thought he was shite at Arsenal, they only played him when they were desperate. I couldn’t believe it when we signed him, how he’s managed to blag a living at the elite level of football is beyond me

I was not enamoured by the signing and I believe I made my opinion patently clear on HOL.
He did come to us on the back of nearly 100 PL appearances and cost a sum that could rise to £4 Mill which is not extortionate in PL terms.

Let's face it, glasner has been let down by the club this transfer window and again in regards to the Europa league. He's well within his right to question the professionalism of those in charge, I wouldn't blame him for leaving. We've got a great chance in the Conference league this year, who knows what will happen tomorrow. I still think we will have a relatively decent season under him, whatever happens we've had worse 3 seasons.
