Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

I still believe our appeal will fail as we have not conformed with UEFA's rules.
Common sense and justice does not come into it, just the facts.

I am happy we are, at least, in a European competition and one which we have a better chance of doing well.

What irritates me is the money Palace have had to lay out in the appeal. If we lose I do hope we don't get silly and start suing for 'compensation'

At least on Monday we can concentrate on getting in the 'at least' two players Glasner is wanting and focus on the 'four competitions' we are now playing in.
I don’t think our appeal is a waste of money at all. Regardless of their ridiculous unfit for purpose rules, they are generally an unfit for purpose organisation and need to be challenged by clubs that they think would not normally challenge them.

The one thing I hate about these Forest fans too is their lack of understanding that we are actually fighting stupid rules that big clubs are generally able to sidestep. You would have thought with the fines and points deductions they had previously, they would empathise with this however their response is rather predictably me me me, preferring to choose the, “well if we were guilty then you must be too” approach.

I would love for this to impact them one day. And it could with that crook at the helm. Zero sympathy from me.

I get it burns but i'd try and make peace with us losing this appeal. Mr P looked dejected. Although not a forgone conclusion he is an intelligent man and will get the mood music that was in the room. I get the feeling the lawyers are focused on the technicalities rather than common sense. The law often isn't fair, sadly.

I'll join you though if we win the appeal.

ps we won the FA Cup so you can be happy with that, hopefully as it's historic and can't be taken away.
Yep. Brighton and Forest won naff all last season and Brighton have never won anything

I understand what you are saying but if we lose, I’m still proud that we appealed, even if it cost us, because to be honest I believe in justice even if UEFA and CAS don’t.

I have always believed we will be ok and I still feel that way this evening. A number of factors behind this but I won’t bore you all with the details as this thread has had more than it’s fair share of ‘expert opinion’ and speculation already 😊

I’m less confident of beating Liverpool on Sunday but then again…you never know!

COYP!

I welcome positive talk!

All you can do is your very best.
If that's not good enough, Parish has tried his damnedest, and still must be applauded 🤲🤲🤲

We find out the decision on Monday
To date, I see no reason to applaud. He is an extremely well-paid Chairman of a club that made a complete cock-up of a simple administrative action and appears to have spent time and money on a wild goose chase that has taken his attention away from signing players, appointing a DOF and placating arguably our most successful manager

doesnt mean influence he paid not I will have this done and you cant stop me , its a investment in to football youth , and keeping the club alive , not buy these players because I said so , this is were UEFA fall down there brain dead

He has influence anybody that thinks otherwise is foolish.

Decision making is what its really about.

This is the thing he has pumped money into the club which has really benefited us and people say but its academy yes which has a big impact on the club.

The other issue is one of these youth players (Jake O'Brian) transferred to another Tex club didn't he and was sold on for a big profit this is what the multi club is about.

It's about evidence and actions not just this cut off deadline time & doesn't help when you got SP coming out with silly comments like my son has influence or messing up one minute saying Tex has no vote then yes he has a vote against 3 others.

I could see Palace maybe getting of this time due to some sort of error and it will all be closed for next year but really at the end of the day we are still in Europe not been thrown out so it's not as massive deal and I would rather go add another trophy then get knocked out early in high tier one (It's not Champions League not much difference)

Wow never heard him so down

Reality of legal debate as others have said. Exhausting. Emotionally persuasive arguments, his forte, go nowhere, He's done all he can let's hope it goes the right way. But time to gather ourselves for Wembley, get past any worry of disappointment, as we have done so often in the past, and go and celebrate our FA cup win - and why not beat the complacent and high spending scousers.

Glad it's all over (almost)
and
Glad All Over on Sunday even if that is not totally in vibe with the Jota commiserations. Respectful but not about to let it spoil our party!

Written like a Forest fan!

All untrue. There was no administrative error because there was nothing administratively we could have done, even if we had both known about a March 1 deadline and thought it applied to us.

The time and money has been well spent. When an obvious injustice occurs you have a moral obligation to fight it and expose it, whatever the outcome. Yes it has diverted attention and may have consequences but when there are important principles at stake you must not just cave in to pressure. Glasner is as frustrated as we are but he is no fool and he also seems he holds decent values. So he will understand and respect what the club are trying to do.

People like Marinakis, whose source of wealth is, to put it mildly, questionable ought not to be able to sportswash money or whitewash his involvement in several clubs with temporary devices like blind trusts. It needs to be put in out the open. Whether this will, is another question but if it is, and we lose, it will still have been worthwhile.

Well we will just have to disagree. I'll be keeping my hands in my pockets. TBH, with all the injuries and a painfully thin squad, I'll be quite happy if it is Conference with a much easier set of games for the remainder of 2025 (assuming we qualify). Hopefully, Parish will learn from it but it may need Glasner to quit to really strike home
