Better a polished zircon than a polished turd 🙂This is true but better a rough diamond than a polished zircon.

Better a polished turd than an unpolished turd...maybe not.Better a polished zircon than a polished turd 🙂
a turd in the hand is worth two in the bush, definitely notBetter a polished turd than an unpolished turd...maybe not.
there were figures of £12 mil and £20 mil being banded about, at £35 mil he'd only be worth it as a direct replacement for Eze not squad reinforcement so no lossConfirmed signed by Villa . . .

Evann Guessand: Aston Villa sign Ivory Coast striker from Nice
Aston Villa complete the signing of Nice striker Evann Guessand for £26m plus £4.3m in add-ons.www.bbc.co.uk
That's what I thought. You can spend that money on a bench warmer unless Eze is off.there were figures of £12 mil and £20 mil being banded about, at £35 mil he'd only be worth it as a direct replacement for Eze not squad reinforcement so no loss
For a striker that can reportedly play across the entire frontline I don’t think it’s an extraordinary amount of money although many have said the opposite. We will probably know before Christmas whether he was a good buy and can handle it at this level.Sky have reported that the initial fee is one of £23.5M with potential add ons taking it up to a maximum of £28M if all conditions are met.

That’s way off the earlier suggestions of £35M and less than we splaffed on Nketiah 🥴

I like the idea of us buying a utility forward, a bit like Ayew was, who can provide quality cover or even push for a starting place in multiple positions
I agree with you.
The earlier suggestions were a fee of around £35M for Guessand. That seemed a lot but for £23.5M that seems far more reasonable.
