For a striker that can reportedly play across the entire frontline I don’t think it’s an extraordinary amount of money although many have said the opposite. We will probably know before Christmas whether he was a good buy and can handle it at this level.

I like the idea of us buying a utility forward, a bit like Ayew was, who can provide quality cover or even push for a starting place in multiple positions

I have seen Guessand 'Plough his furrow' for A.Villa and I have not been enamoured by his performances.
I have not heard of any interest in him but as I have stated before I don't receive a 'Running commentary' of latest developments.

No doubt we'll have negotiated them up on a fee to buy, probably offering them twice what they paid in the summer or something ridiculous.

We’ve done goalkeepers the last few years, now we are moving onto wingers.

What this does suggest if it is true, is that we will probably look to offload Esse to Coventry and JRS to whoever will buy him. What Drakes-Thomas makes of us potentially having half a dozen wide players is anyone’s guess.
