Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

We should definitely move-on for the following reasons:
1. our club management made the c*ck-up and really we have no-one else to blame;
2. other clubs are laughing at us, particularly all this bollox about Forest becoming our most hated rivals. Their supporters had nothing to do with this; we made a balls-up and their owner pointed it out.
3. the new season is approaching and we haven't brought in the players that Glasner wants/needs to handle a European campaign and a decent Prem League finish.
I agree, but not in the way you mean. Are you really a Palace fan? I smell a Forest fire.

I am sure contingency plans are in place for whatever outcome arises, so will definitely move on, to what ever is demanded.

Our management is not to blame at all. They had no way themselves of arranging a blind trust for Textor, nor would he have willingly just arranged one as he was actively trying to sell his shares. Even if we had been informed correctly and the arbitrary date unquestionable. Both of which are doubtful.

The attitude of the Forest fans on their forums is appalling. They seem blind to the character of Marinakis and his very obvious sports washing of dubiously acquired wealth. They undoubtedly deserve to be treated as despicable rivals.

Clubs are aware of our position so are playing hard ball. Players don’t know where they are too. Once some certainty exists things should move more quickly.

That said if we lose don’t rule out us appealing to the European court, as has now been permitted. Not to be reinstated in the Europa League, it would be too late for that, but to claim compensation for being excluded.

I’m sure I’m going to regret asking you, but how did the club management “ cock up “ exactly ? What steps do you think they should have taken ??

I put 'decisive influence' in quotes specifically to indicate the fact that his actions (or lack thereof) on the blind trust has been the sole cause of our problems and to differentiate it from the day-to-day running of the club

TBH, with the injuries piling up and lack of purchases the Conference may be the better option. We just have to make sure we win the qualifying round. The league stage should be relatively easy and the knockout does not start until February
If we get Europa that would surely help with signings we need with extra guaranteed money plus more if we do well and more attractive for players to join

Maybe Forest fans love some golden brown

I'm kind of surprised Johnson has nothing to say about the situation. I'm presuming we're all on silent mode to not prejudice the case. I bet Johnson's absolutely dying to say something. Unless he's exactly the same as Blitzer and Harris. I just have a feeling he's not like them. If I were to bet, I wouldn't entirely be surprised if he bought out their shares in the next year or two. Might keep Parish running the club, however. Who knows.

Maybe he didn't buy the rights to speaking? Separate package along with decisive control. The Gold Ownership Package.

The Scottish Premier League are allowing teams involved in the European Playoff Rounds to postpone their league games on 23/24 August.

I don’t suppose the EPL would allow us to do the same. It would mess up their precious Sky schedules.

But so far we have seen no evidence that Textor was holding out from any pressure from Parish to put his shares in blind trust. I'm more inclined to the collective 'Oh my God we screwed up' hypothesis
Of course, if it is all down to Textor, it only shows that he has a 'decisive influence' which we are trying to argue against
I can appreciate that line of argument. And you are probably right. But JT was looking to sell his interest in Palace - so in that context he would not be in a position commercially to put them in a blind trust whether there was pressure or not from the other board members.

In other words, if any potentially conflicted owner is looking to sell shares in a club which may qualify for Europe, assume that club is disqualifying themselves from some or all of European competition for the next season. That seems to be the impact of applying the rules to our situation.

As many have said the solution to all this is to ban multiclub ownership altogether. But this is unlikely and we probably all know why.
