Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

Be nice if the FA decided to mount a bit of support for our case ,the whole thing makes me sick of the stitch up!!
Apparently they have said, as it’s a UEFA matter, they won’t get involved. It must have really hacked them off that we won their beloved trophy.
Spineless, gutless money grabbing cowards

My dear wife was not in my company and if she had been present I suspect my tirade would not have included some salty language and lavatory wall expressions as she abhors such behaviour.
Suffice to say I had a fit of the vapours in the midst of some lubricating of the larynx.
Are vapes not banned in your pub then?

Was it along the lines of
But, I mean today, dash it all, those UEFA blighters are an unmitigated bunch of absolute scoundrels and neer-do-wells. Should those bounders enter my purview I should give them one of my looks and by God it would bite like an adder.
Gargantuan guffaws in the Willo abode.
🤣 🤣 🤣
I admit to baring my fangs last night using terminology equating to 'Go forth and multiply' and 'They are roughly spherical and there are two of them' amongst the repertoire.

I do not have this information to hand.I have never entertained a cigarette, cigar or pipe.

I can only echo the words of Steve Parish, I am totally dismayed by the decision of UEFA and of course hope that it is over-turned.
I have entertained the notion that the club should withdraw from the Conference League or that our supporters should boycott the games. An empty Selhurst Park would not a good 'Optic' for UEFA.

I agree about boycotting the Conference league. As fans, we would become part of the problem if we accept it. To those that think winning it is a reward, for me that win would be tarnished. We should never have been in that tournament and some other teams dreams would have been taken away by us.

We win the FA cup. The reward for that is a place in the Europa. All shares have been sold and the problem is gone long before the tournament has started. There really isn’t anything to punish us for. Infact, we should be commended for acting immediately and jumping through all hoops for UEFA.

I have faith the right decision will be reached by it is going to get very m, very messy I fear.

Vapours wilo 😀

Yep

The draw will take place on Monday 4 August with the tie to take place over two legs.

The first leg will be played on Thursday 21 August, with the second taking place the following week on Thursday 28 August.
This is what i don't understand. When won the cup, we then went into the league phase of the EL, Forest on the other hand went into the 3rd qualifying round of the ECL. So, now things have altered, as Forest haven't qualified for the EL, do they go straight in or do they have to qualify? Also, do we still go straight in, or do we have to qualify? Iv'e not seen anything that says owt.

Not on your nelly !
Suffice to say, my membership on HOL would be terminated with rapidity and NO appeal would overturn the decision ! I suspect to some this would be manna from heaven !
I have come to recognise thatyou always choose the correct words for any situation in which you might find yourself. I can imagine that your vicar been there you might have learnt some new words.

Please keep up your good work, and do not falter.

When supporters dreamed of "Playing in Europe", I suspect they did not have some lower-level competition in mind, with teams nobody had even heard of, played in stadiums with capacities well 'South' of those we have been accustomed to in the PL and Championship.

Thank you kindly !
Had a member of the clergy been present I suspect I would have been forcibly dragged to the 'Confessional' and assigned a penance which would have occupied several hours of my time.

Agree.
I'm a huge football fan, as well as of Palace but I still didn't watch any Conference football last season including the final.
If we are in this tournament I would have the League and the two domestic cups ahead of it in terms of priorities.
The Europa Cup (old Cup Winners Cup) is an entirely different kettle of fish with long history and traditions.

There's glory and glamour attached to this which is totally absent from the Conference.

I accept I may be in a minority in this view and many seem desperate to see us in Europe at any cost, even if the whole episode has been tainted as it has been .

As for the general assumption that we'd easily win it and have it as another route to Europe, that's a huge assumption.
Note our squad on occasions last season had 2 goalkeepers, 2 veterans and 3 untried youngsters.
European competition places huge demands on resources and can often affect League form for clubs our size.

In essence, I could see the risk/reward being worth it for the Europa, but not for the Conference.
Because it was formerly the Cup Winners' Cup - la creme del la creme from each country competing against each other to be football's supreme team of the year.

The only good thing I can see in all this is the amount of coverage it is getting by the media, which could help to blow the whole rotten egg of UEFA/FIFA/football up.

I for one echo your sentiments Willo.

Conference league is different every team has to play a qualifying play-off round to enter the group stages, we are seeded so we enter 3rd round play-offs

I would rather not be in the Conference, but if we are stuck with it, the best thing to do is win it. We are very capable of doing so, and that would mean Europa League the following season.
