Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

I see Lyon are having a fire sale of their players, what's really annoying is that Parish has probably decided (rightly) we can't go near the club because of this UEFA stuff.

So other clubs are benefiting whilst we have to avoid it.

Thanks Textor.
Which probably means they will get into EL but won’t have many of the players that got them there, some teams are go to have an easy ride against them

While I agree the sensible thing would be to let Palace compete (if Lyon relegated) or both compete (if Lyon not relegated) but Forest have thrown a massive spanner into that possibility IF they are threatening to sue if we are allowed in. UEFA dont want legal action and I'm guessing this is what worries them.
If Forest were to just back off and say fine, Palace have earned their place, let them have it I feel sure UEFA would say we can go ahead and compete.
I dont have an issue with Forest fans but Marinakis has a lot to answer for.
God, you talk some nonsense, if you got paid by the word you would be a multi millionaire 🙄

I, I'm tired of all this delay and provarication.

Can someone please just wake me up when they reach a decision?
Amazed folk on here are getting bored with this. Talk about instant gratification culture.

It is involved, complex with interwoven threads. We have a plucky little underdog, the prospect of something beyond our dreams 15 years ago, a large faceless quango seeking to destroy that, and some proper Boo Hiss baddies. How is this dull?

So far as the evolving story goes, Lyon's appeal starts today zzzzz 😴

'significant control' is not the standard
'decisive control' is the standard
Textor did not have that.

Of course as a Director he could make proposals. That is 'significant'. But he couldn't force through his proposals having only 25% voting rights. In the event of a tie then Steve Parish had the casting vote. Therefore Parish had decisive control.

There are different types of shares you can hold in a company. They don't give the same benefits or risks. It's basic stuff in corporate set ups. The actual percentage of ownership can be very different to the ultimate decision making.

Simply put, there is no case to answer.

We were not part of a MCO and Textor did not have decisive control

These 100+ pages are about the intricacies of badly drawn up and unfair UEFA rules and timing, their prejudices against certain types of individuals and clubs and total incompetence by UEFA in failing to recognise the problems in their change of rules to March as the deadline in comparison to the meaningless loopholes they created to allow business as usual to the 'big' regular European competition clubs.

The only issue is how UEFA come to the right decision without making themselves look totally unfit as an organisation.
Which is precisely why whether Lyon are relegated or not is totally irrelevant!!!

look we are fighting each other now , we all agree the rule is crap unworkable , blame is UEFA with a rule we have all pulled apart , palace lawyers must have read our post and have enough to tie them up in knots lol ,

so lets stop the in fighting we are all 1 team

I read somewhere that Lyon’s woes were flagged up with them last year and if they didn’t get their house in order by the end of the season there would be dire consequences. It’s not like they didn’t know what was coming. To put a time frame on it the draw for the 3rd round of the cup hadn’t even been made at that point. They deserve to be relegated, not even sure what they are objecting to,or contesting here. It looks pretty straight forward, Lyon should be toast!

I think most of us are just fed up with the confusion, lies, deceit and corruption. We are potentially being denied a place in Europe for a pathetic reason (which most of the big clubs are all exploiting)

Oh well, I can always pass the time handing out yellow cards to posters who personally insult others rather than replying to the topic.......... bit too much of that going on at the moment.

What a bunch of slags eh!

In all seriousness though, I've lost complete track of what is going on and am just somewhat ignoring this all until an end state is reached (for next season at least). I keep popping on to see if there's any 'breaking' revelations.

I'll refrain from personally insulting anyone however even just thinking about it makes me furious, and that's nay good for me or anybody else! I'll just start fantasising about 'windmilling' my way around the UEFA HQ, a set of keys in both fists and everything.
