Israel v Hamas

They were the same people living in that area for thousands of years.....Arabs came along with Islam in the 7th century....so they are heavily mixed in with Arab.

The Jews have had a massive admixure of European genes over the best part of two thousand years from multiple types, Netty is probably just as German as he is Jewish.....but most Jews were Eastern European.

I read about some Jews who have gone back to Poland because they felt it more their ancestral home, which for some Jews makes sense.....obviously most Jews are in America.

It's a moot point.

Both are ethnic groups.
This is indeed a pointless debate.

Israel as we know it now exists purely because of the Holocaust and religious texts.
The Jews have always been a dispersed people. From Ramesses II to Hitler and Stalin and a whole lot more, Jews have had a rough time being accepted just about everywhere they have gone. Nonetheless, many Jews are doing fine where they are now. Particularly in the US.

Using the logic that Jews used for the creation of the state of Israel, one could just as easily claim that Catholics have a right to a place in Palestine, since their religion began there. In fact, all Christians could claim it as their homeland.
Now we know that there are Jews who are related through blood and those that have plenty of other genes swirling around. Some might claim a direct genetic link back to the Biblical lands some not so much.
Does that means that all people of Irish or Scottish descent or indeed anyone else can citizenship in their mother country in two thousand years if things aren't going too well for them? Unlikely.

My point is that logical arguments have no place here. Who was there first or second? It doesn't matter any more.

Israel exists because it was essentially a gift to a people who had just seen 6 million of its number destroyed in a few years. I don't suppose that those who signed off on it ever realised how big it would grow or bothered themselves with the possibility of regional destabilisation in the future. They had a lot on their plate already, and the Jews were a problem that had to be resolved.

So here we are.

Bounced down the news items, somewhere below Saun Coombs sex trafficking trial and global warming

The luring of a starving population to militarised aid centres has enabled the genocide to continue.

"At least 46 people waiting for aid have been killed by Israeli fire in two incidents in central and southern Gaza, according to rescuers and hospitals.
UN agencies have condemned the US and Israel-backed food distribution system, with one official calling it "an abomination" and "a death trap".

Such deadly incidents have recently become a near daily occurrence but have attracted relatively little attention outside Gaza since Israel attacked Iran more than a week ago.

Without including the latest deaths, the UN has said that more than 410 Palestinians are reported to have been killed by Israeli gunfire or shelling since the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) began work in late May." (BBC website)

Balfour Declaration was 1917 so pre holocaust

I dunno if steeley was one of those arrested but the stereotypes are all there

"Liam" - homeless. Racial assault
"Tom, Matthew, Lavina and Eleanor" - arrested
Bipasha from Tower Hamlets and Hafeza from Luton

Love it.
They hated publishing these peoples details but the ‘far right ‘ riots set the precedent 😀

'Donald Trump nominated for nobel peace prize'.

No, not by Sir Keir (yet).

Washington: A Republican lawmaker has nominated US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, citing his role in brokering a ceasefire between Israel and Iran and helping to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons, Fox News reported.

He didn't bomb them off the table or anything like that.

🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

I thought Obama got the peace prize for solving the Middle East. maybe he should give it back.

And this news article today, reflects what has been happening for decades. Armed groups of Israeli's, with military equipment, stealing Palestinian farmland and killing any witnesses, olive farmers, goat herders and the like. The IDF stand by.
"Three Palestinians have been shot dead after dozens of Israeli settlers attacked a Palestinian village in the occupied West Bank, Palestinian authorities say.
Video footage from Kafr Malik, external, near Ramallah, on Wednesday night showed a car and a home on fire and Palestinians running away as gunfire is heard.
The Israeli military said forces deployed to the scene found settlers and villagers throwing stones at each other. It added that several "terrorists" opened fire and threw stones at the forces, who returned fire and identified hits. They also arrested five Israelis.
The Palestinian foreign ministry said settlers fired at villagers in their homes during what it called their "terrorist assault". (BBC website)

Seen all the pro Hamas supporters out in force this weekend at glastonbury.

Peak wokeness waving their flags at at a concert like the one that started it all where Hamas murdered and took hostage hundreds of innocent people.

Palestinian flags are not HAMAS flags. Palestinian flags waved for the genocide of a population

The same as not all Israeli's endorse Netanhayu and the IDF actions of the murder of a population

And most rational people would condemn the murdering and hostage-taking HAMAS and hope the terrorists get ultimate retribution put upon them.

1. Do you know what "synonymous" means? When deep south Americans wave the Confederate battle flag do you give that the same credence? You can't even accept the Union flag being waved by the FLA ffs

2. "The population of Palestine stood at 5.54 million in January 2025. Data shows that Palestine's population increased by 90 thousand (+1.7 percent) between early 2024 and the start of 2025"

You keep saying this and providing no sources. Pretty much every other available source states the exact opposite since the war started.

No, waving that flag at a festival is making a political statement where it's supposed to be a place of unity. This anti-Israel view is endorsed by the Glastonbury promoters. The crowd chants are particularly sick. You think someone waving an Israel flag wouldn't get s*** loads of abuse or threat of violence there?
