Personally, I think he did a wonderful job at Brentford and getting the Spuds job isn't a step up. You have Daniel Levy pulling your chain and the ridiculous expectations of Spuds fans thinking they are a big club.
Already they are dipping into Brentford's squad, and blatantly tapping up Brentford players in the media.
It tells me, the Spuds squad is not good enough, so tap up the Brentford squad who would jump for the bigger wages. Has all the hallmarks of a massive mis-match. Thomas Frank, a very good football man, a man of principles and a very decent human being. Spuds and Daniel Levy
 
Thomas Frank never got off to the best of starts at Brentford losing 8 of his first 10 games.
In actual fact when he was handed the reins after 12 games Brentford were 7th in the Championship and the club finished in 11th place.
Brentford finished 3rd in the Championship in consecutive seasons and were promoted to the PL via the play-offs.
In the PL, Brentford have finished 13th, 9th, 16th and 10th.
His win record at Brentford is nigh on 42%.

I think this has most of my thoughts in it. I would just add that you get these managers who do well when the club is geared towards them, they have control largely and are trusted. Clearly, Brentford never lost faith with Frank even during the tougher times. That loyalty paid off hugely.
Now he goes to Spurs with everyone trying to second guess him, the adversarial interviews and Levy, amongst others, questioning every move he makes. I don't see it lasting as Frank seems too forthright. He's going to tell them to do one sooner or later.
 
Brentford was always going to be a bit of a glass ceiling for him but I'm worried about him moving to Tottenham. A truly great manager and a gent, it would be a shame to see his legacy tarnished but I'd gladly put a bet on him not being there by the end of 2027.

I would think people in the industry know the pitfalls of a Manager going to a club like Spuds, if & when it tanks most prospective employers would probably consider the clubs overall contribution to the situation as playing a major part -
 
I'm happy he's left Brentford. Not a huge fan of their Meccano stadium and their new found fans.

As for the Spurs job, as others have said, he'd probably gone as far as he could with Brentford and Spurs are a big club and a different challenge.

Levy is always the issue at Spurs. But it looks like he's changing how things work behind the scenes now so that might provide Frank with the right platform to succeed.

I like Frank so I wish him well.
