Thomas Frank and Spuds

The Brentford setup that's served them so well in the prem is seemingly dissipating - the squad is at a time where established stars are now looking for a different challenge, and now with Franck going too, it's a worrying time to be a Brentford fan.
But, I'm amazed he seemed so eager to go to Spurs. It is (or at least should be) a step up, but the Levy era has somewhat tarnished that reputation in recent years. Spurs are a shambles of a mess of a car crash, where promising people go on to prove that that haven't quite got it.

I really want Franck to succeed there, as I genuinely like him. do I think he will? not a chance.

Tottenham's league position of 17th last season was unacceptable to the club and supporters but they did win the 'Europa League'.
In previous seasons, Tottenham ended in 5th, 8th,4th,7th and 6th places.
They have only finished outside the top 6, 3 times over the last 16 seasons.
Tottenham's strata is at a different level to that of Brentford's, "Bigger" club and all that, with a highly impressive modern stadium housing almost 63,000.
I am not surprised that Thomas Frank had his head turned by Tottenham.

For his sake I hope it works out for him, although I don't particularly want to see a resurgent Spurs.

I remember when we played Brentford at home in 2023/2024 with Hodgson still in charge. We won 3-1 and Olise was unstoppable that afternoon, scoring twice. At the end of the game Frank made a point of singling out Olise and going over to him to shake hands and shrug his shoulders as if to say to him "what a performance".

How often do you the manager of a losing side congratulating a player from the opposition. That was classy.
