Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

And what’s your version of “ getting the criteria right “ ?
Keeping in constant contact with the CFCB, to check what we a trying to put right is what they require, and not just what we think is right, and hoping Textor doesn't take us to the cleaners.

Textor has been trying to sell his shares for at least 2 years, as Palace wont join in his multiclub set up. Why does anyone think, he is going to sell them by the end of June. Not sure what getting the criteria right means? Palace arent signed up members of Eagle Holdings multiclub venture, inferring he should of put his shares in a blind trust before March, in case we won the FA Cup. As we havent won any current cup competition in our history and very few clubs outside the top 6 clubs do, nobody envisaged this situation in February before deadline of moving shares into a blind trust.
I bet if we fail to get in, and lets hope we get in and win it, that they will be checking any changes for next season, as we employ over 500 people maybe one of them can check

It was only a matter of time before that fat bubble got involved.

He really is a nice chap though

Who, apparently, is very “friendly” with a leading light at UEFA. How he ever passed the owners test, beggars belief. Put his shares in a blind trust in April but has now removed them, I believe.
, so much for them having to be in a trust for 1 year

Speaking of 'friendly'

You just don't get it do you.

I'll have one last go - 3 scenarios ;

* Palace knew the rules but believed that they were within them. By the time this looked like becoming an issue, it was too late to remediate.
* Palace didn't know the rules but again, the deadline for compliance would have meant it was too late to remediate.
* Palace knew the rules but any action that needed to be taken would have been in February - I'm talking specifically about the Blind Trust ' solution '. Textor has repeatedly and publicly said he wants to sell his shares. It would have been hard to make a case for putting them into a Blind Trust after we had won a 4th round cup game.

I'm not '' pontificating '' here. Merely presenting the possibilities of why we are in this predicament. I'm not, and never have, claimed to know what's gone on behind the scenes. And in the absence of any communications from the club, this is just speculation. All the above has also been stated by various journalists in the media, yet you can't accept it.

Maybe this reported letter from Forest to UEFA is actually in support of Palace, seeing as they seem to be best buddies? 🤣

John Textor owns Botafogo, and he’s said to have developed a good relationship with Evangelos Marinakis last year. The pair get along, and Marinakis invited Textor into his box for Nottingham Forest’s match against Liverpool. According to Globo, the duo constantly talk about market opportunities, especially in Brazilian football.

Marinakis obviously didn’t need any encouragement to look towards Brazil, having done so on repeat occasions for Nottingham Forest, but he’s said to have built a serious knowledge of the Botafogo squad.

Regarding transfers for the three players mentioned, Globo state: ‘Negotiations were handled directly by Textor and Marinakis, without the need for intermediaries or agents with good connections at the clubs, something common in football. Given the good relationship between the two leaders, it was understood that it would be better to handle everything direc

Textor and Marinakis seem to be in more of a multi-club setup than Palace and Lyon!

Evangelos Marinakis will be permitted to continue his hands-on approach to running Nottingham Forest next season despite relinquishing his shares in the club.

The Greek billionaire was strongly criticised for storming on to the pitch to confront the manager, Nuno Espírito Santo, following Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Leicester, which left Forest seventh in the table as they attempt to qualify for the Champions League.

Marinakis’s Greek club, Olympiakos, have already secured their Champions League place for next season and he announced last month that he has placed his Forest shares in a so-called “blind trust” to ensure compliance with Uefa regulations if they also qualify.

Marinakis’s Forest shares are now managed by several trustees who were appointed directors of the club last month – Matthew Shayle, Matthew Cain and Timothy Osborne – although Marinakis was not actually on the board in the first place.

However, there are no conditions in the blind trust arrangement sanctioned by Uefa to restrict Marinakis’s attendance at matches, deny him access to any part of the stadium or to prevent him speaking to the manager or players. A source close to the 57-year-old added that he will continue offering opinions and guidance in a personal capacity.

Call me cynical, but I'm struggling to believe that Marakanis is now passive in the running of NFFC.

'' Smoke and Mirrors '' indeed.....

To add to the confusion (perhaps) there’s a story that Matt Turner has just been sold by Forest to Textor’s Lyon.
Perfectly legitimate I’m sure, but a strange announcement on the the day the Forest launch a complaint about Palace/Textor and are also apparently readying an appeal should the decision go in favour of Palace.

To paraphrase the Godfather you can imagine the Forest owner saying to Textor.
‘ … It’s business John, nothing personal..’

My view - and hope ! - is that UEFA, having correctly investigated this matter according to their rules, come to the conclusion that there is no case to answer to.
I’d like to think that if there was any doubt on our side it could have been addressed- but who knew come March that we would win the FA Cup ?
How do you know that Parish didn't know the rules ? I think it's entirely possible that the club were aware of them but have always considered themselves to be operating within them. But I don't suppose you have considered that.
At the moment UEFA are investigating to what extent - if any - Palace have fallen foul of their rules. Rules which if you read them are open to subjective interpretation.

All statements from you on this thread, you seem to have changed position.
your 3 "scenarios", the first 2 are exactly what i have said from the start, the 3rd is not important.
That facts are we got it wrong on the requirements needed for UEFA, a schoolboy error, you have to look farther ahead than a few months, that is why we find us in the position we are in, lets hope we can get an acceptable route that UEFA agree on.

No, I haven't changed my position on this at all. I repeat, I have articulated what I perceive to be the issues.

The bit that you wrote that I have highlighted is where you - in my opinion - have got it wrong. You are now stating your opinion as FACT, which is a tendency of yours, whereas actually it's all conjecture at this time. You're calling it a '' schoolboy error '' , again without knowing the facts. As for looking '' farther ahead than just a few months '' I really don't know what you expect. I'm not going to repeat myself on that subject.

One thing we can agree on is that we hope UEFA resolve this to our satisfaction.

They might as well say he can turn up for board meetings just can’t vote. Pathetic

Apparently th Forest ownership have taken the shares out of blind trust following the failure to qualify for a tournament that Olympiakos are possibly going to be in.

If Forest are are now reinstated into the Europa league at the expense of Palace then they could be back in the same situation as us and I’m guessing they wouldn’t be allowed to put the shares back into a blind trust otherwise that would fly in the face of the argument against Palace.

It looks to me that Uefa are waiting for the outcome on June 24th of the French Fa's financial meeting with Lyon. Mentioned earlier in these posts, before making a decision, hence the new expected end of the month ruling by Uefa.
