Summer Transfers 2025 (rumours and incomings)

According to Charlton fans Danny Imray will sign for them on a season loan.

I think it would be a good move for him.
A great move for Danny, if true. Something similar for Goodman, in the Championship would prove whether he is reaching the right levels. That’s if the club don’t make him number two.

Thinking about a very out of favour player. Currently Grealish is lucky if he makes it to the bench. At £100M and £300K per week well out of our reach, but is he?

Not currently doing as well as some of our senior Academy players. Could that be where he should start at Palace?

Working at ten per cent (he might be considered to be around that level at the moment) we have:-

Season loan fee (10% of £10M) £1M, with additions.
Paid by us to City
£100,000 per goal - increasing to £2M if he reaches eleven
Option to buy at our top price so far paid (£30M) if he proves he is settled in South London - scoring 15 goals and starting at least every other match from March 2026.
Paid to him
£1,000 increase in wages per week for each start after five.
Paid by City
10% of increase in value from £10M
Agreed payment if in 2026 England Squad
More if starts and scores in World Cup Matches.

Jack would then be, once again, a top player, ready for another Palace season (at Palace wage rate) followed by a move to a top European Club.

where do you start with this?

Firstly he is nowhere near the player he was 2 or 3 years ago - see Sterling and his Arsenal loan as an example of a player on a downward spiral.

If he leave he will want to go to a bigger club than Palace.

If Palace are mad enough to consider him and he was prepared to consider us then his wages will be a massive issue.

Say we agree a 50% deal - so we pay £150k a week then City will want a loan fee - maybe £5m for the season. Out of our reach IMHO.

Then there is the player's attitude and where he would fit into our formation. Both are red flags.

Incidentally he has only ever scored more than 6 leagues goals in 1 season (8 in total) so your 15 goal scenario is a bit ambitious.

100%. Its a complete non-starter.

There is much better business out there. Wouldn't touch this with a barge pole

Grealish never was a great player another English talent over hyped.

Sterling I believe still can contribute if he went to a club like us he would feel a lot more welcomed plus have better support structure (I could see him working in our system as well)

Yes being realistic we are not getting these types of players they are on very high wages and most of these people wont take a cut they would rather rot on bench.

I wouldn't want Grealish anyway even if he was begging outside the club would still decline him.

He's not about scoring goals that is not his game

Despite earning all the major club trophies, I think most people would say City ruined Grealish. At Villa he would win games on his own in the same way Zaha used to do for us. Also like Zaha, he has now been reduced to someone who spends most of his time on the floor complaining. At the right club he might rediscover what made him a special talent, but that club is not ours. I could see him ending up in Spain, hanging out with the expats, topping up his tan and nursing a few beers in between substitute appearances for Athletic (or someone).
