Rachel Reeves

I have consistently asserted that we lost the trust of the electorate, the Conservative 'Brand' has been damaged and trust has to be regained.
We of course had to face significant challenges EG Covid and the war in Ukraine.
And gross incompetence,Boris lied and lied and lost the trust of the public, Rishi ducked out of the D day commemoration. The charge sheet against the Tories is a long one, check the opinion polls you have about as much chance as Gary Glitter getting a licence to run a toddles nursery.

I accept that we have been tarnished but I do not accept that the "14 years of power" can be filed under 'Scurrilous'.
A minority view, if ever there was one.

And in stating that, we can see that you have learnt nothing.

Just own it.

It is generally accepted that the Conservatives made mistakes hence the heavy defeat at the General Election. We had lost the trust of the electorate and it has to be regained.
I believe it is likely that Badenoch will face a leadership challenge but under party rules this is not possible until at least 2nd November.
I did not vote for Badenoch at the Leadership Election.

I really do not like tabloids,I think for myself, your quoting tory party central office is a worry that you just repeat their clap-trap, The only mirror is the one the failing tories should take a long look in.

The subject matter of this thread is 'Rachel Reeves' so I would humbly suggest that the debate does not deflect away from 'Rachel from Accounts'. Anti-Tory rhetoric deflects away from her dastardly record in Government.

I was pointing out how rubbish the previous incumbents were, It would suit you to snipe away at her without the Tory dirty washing on display, life i'm afraid will tell the true story in an unvarnished way.If you are losing at football do you stop the game and skulk off with your football?

Her and her disreputable Government deserve all the opprobrium that has come their way and will continue to do so.
I just hope that at the 'General Election' I am in this world and of sound mind so I can wallow in the delight of seeing Labour humiliated.

One small glance at the opinion polls will tell you that the Tories are facing oblivion,Reform are a very long way in front,a two horse race between Reform and Labour. The opprobrium comes from the right wing press which most sane people take with a pinch of salt.

The opprobrium is emitted from all sides of the political divide.

Three sides now Labour (left) Tories (right wing) and Reform ( far right but dressed up as a lamb),we won't include the Lib Dems as they are more into skydiving and act the fool.

Thought Rachel's absolute priority was growth.
Sadly, she appears to be taking us in the wrong direction........Bankruptcy!!

Labour have an advantage over the Tories.

The electorate sacked the Tories because they were fed up with 14 years of Tory lies. The problem the Tories now have is how do you get the electorate to trust you? Kemi will say we have changed we are listening blah blah but we heard all that from every other Tory leader.

As the government Labour has the advantage in that they can say to the electorate trust us we made these promises and we have kept them. Of course at the moment they are not doing that but they do have another 4 years.

Reform has the advantage that as they have never held power they can make promises with out the baggage of failure that the Tories carry.

Kemi won’t be around much longer.

And I think there is a deal to be done with Reform although I’m sure Willo may have a view on that.

Starmer likes to talk about financial black holes and the economy being crashed and now it looks like his policies could produce similar events. If / when that happens the real lunatics will take over the asylum

Angela,apparently, waiting in the wings!!

As a lot of people thought. Her fiscal policies are as genuine as her previous expenses claims, and subsequent CV, when she was a banker. Reeves should be one of the first casualties of an employment cull.

I vote for Neillo as next treasurer.

And, of course, if bankruptcy is the prognosis, it has nothing to do with 14 years of Tory mismanagement and everything to do with a government who inherited the sludge not even a year ago.

Yup. That must be true.
