US Politics

Now the self hating but entitled British white middle and higher class want us to be both anti American and anti Russian....
not anti-American. They loved Biden. Adult diapers and all.

Funnily Putin is far less the monster protrayed in the Western media. Very many Russians still love him. He would never flood Russia with tens of thousands of men from the Third World.

Rachel Reeves has had more criticism on the other thread for accepting Sabrina Carpenter tickets than those responsible for this monumental f*ck up or Trump for his crypto scam have had on here.
Yup. I wonder how much criticism Starmer would get on here if he set up something similar.
Any criticism of the Trumper, though, is invalid because, of course, it's all about "You lefties".

Hours of comedic fun on here, you know.

Wow, talk about changing the goal posts (and not backing any of those assertions up with anything even remotely resembling proof).

You always know someone is out of their depth when they answer a question with another question.

Deeply unserious.
The proof still not in evidence then........silence. Haha. It's so easy.

Now the self hating but entitled British white middle and higher class want us to be both anti American and anti Russian......One our biggest single trading nation that we founded and the other the producer of the cheapest energy we could get.

It's all ideological, not about what's best for the country but what suits their political tribalism.

They all want us back in the EU, even though financially the EU is in the pits....with the Germans breaking its own fiscal rules and printing money like it's a never ending Christmas.
There is a huge difference to being anti American and anti Russian to being anti Trump and anti Putin.

So long as the US dump all traces of Trump in 4 years and return to sanity that relationship can be quickly rebuilt. It would take longer with Russia but it could be done there too.

Of course most people who have their feet on the ground and not their head in the clouds think we need to be back in the EU. Brexit was always going to be a disaster and nothing since has changed that. That it too has economic problems currently doesn’t change that fact. We all face tough times, but facing them together will produce better outcomes than trying to do it alone.

Strange isn’t it? The biggest story internationally is the breech of security committed by the amateurs and sycophants appointed by Trump to run the CIA and Defence departments and the hotch potch of lies and denials they are all scrambling to throw at it. Yet it’s ignored here!

Prefer to bash Reeves, the BBC or lefties rather than comment on something really important?

Predictably Trump has now tried to hijack the news agenda by announcing the introduction of a 25% tariff on cars in an attempt to take the security scandal off the headlines. Something that will add even more uncertainty to the economic outlook and make Reeves tasks even more challenging.

Anyone listening to the rambling justification of the policy made by Trump, and the obvious bs about thousands of manufacturing jobs now returning to the USA, could not have failed to notice how incoherent he is sounding.

Diplomacy is a tricky business.

That would be the soon to be non existent Sky news so who cares about their gotcha questions

He is a monster, he kidnapped thousands of kids from Ukraine. But, I hope you mean the Russians don't see him as a monster

Did you see his response to the question regarding 4 missing US troops in Lithuania? He basically said he didn't know what they were talking about and seemed to be confused by the question. I'm not expecting him to be on top of all military operations but as the president you would think he would express some concern and commit to finding out the details.

They don't care. It's a cult.

I didn't think it was great but did wonder what difference it made in reality. I can't imagine the Houtis are able to do much about US airstrikes - but none of us have the full details. If there were genuine risks of losing aircraft, then that's different. With the comments about Europe, I wondered if it were actually leaked purposely.
Thinking about it today, I'm now wondering will they charge the Editor of The Atlantic with leaking secrets? If I were added to a secure defence WhatsApp group, I would personally point out that I shouldn't be there and didn't want to know anything about it. I certainly wouldn't tell anyone anything about it at all. Unless totally drunk - when who knows what I say. Mostly embellished stories I suspect. Ones that people have heard hundreds of times before.

You do have a very biased and myopic view on anything and everything that is said and done politically in the US.

The election of Trump was always going to come with drama, rapid action, promises kept and dare I mention it some chaos. That was a known fact and quite frankly preferable to most Americans than what had preceded.

The Democrats are a mess and the same idiotic anti Trump rhetoric is making them look even more unpopular over here!

Overall his election promise is being delivered and welcomed. I will preface that I am personally on the fence on a couple of major issues but recognize 60 days is not enough time to judge the outcome yet.

Oh dear.

Gross apologist. That response is as idiotic as what went on with MTG there.

'Gotcha questions'?. There many Americans, I'm sure, who think that this laxity in security is a problem but, once again, this haranguing display is no different to that of her president; it filters down from the top. I'm sure Mr Trump will be delighted, just like you are.

"I don't give a crap" just about sums it up.

Mindless and naive response from this woman. If you can't see that, HK Owen, well...... Haha. Good luck to you - it's pointless.

Keep on keeping on.

I know you American, HE, but those highlighted responses do make me chuckle. To the right wing UK citizens on this platform and the posters on here, we hear nothing but slagging off of the Labour gocernment. In section (1), If we substitute The Labour and Conservative governemnts in for the Republicans and Democrats, posters on here would never agree to that statement. Likewise in extract (2): after only a month posters on here were screamimg in indignation about how useless Labour are.

You Talk of 'Biased' and 'Myopic'. Hmmm....

Thing is I see no difference between labour and conservatives. It's much of a muchness of the same thing.

Labour were voted in. I respect that. It is what it is. I don't like two tier kier but I don't go on and on and on and on about him with hateful vengeance.

Well, fair do's; you may not but look at the little legion on here that do. No?

And, tbf, Mr Trump does act in the most ridiculous fashion. We are not used to seeing such hostile bad-mouthing of anything he disagrees with, the laying on of hands with a foreign president and the haranguing that took place with Zelensky. Then, this obvious cock-up of the security meeting that is only met with, once again, shouty talk and the now tiresome act of calling all criticism of him "weaponising" etc, etc, etc; I mean, it just goes on.

I think there are many people who are moderate viewers with no axe to grind, who might feel uncomfortable watching such scenes.
