Glasner to Forest

Yes, the team was heading down under Hodgson. Glasner saw the potential and realised it. I wonder if Lanzo considers Hodgson to be a "good manager"?
Yes, Hodgson is a different class to Glasner, when he has managed his country, Liverpool and Inter Milan, , and keep us comfortably up, playing different methods, then he can be compared to him

With this same assortment of riches at his disposals ,a certain Mr.Hobson managed to put us on a relegation trajectory before he was relieved of his duties and OG,took up the challenge with unequalled success.
Try and get his name right, FFS

Comparing stats of both their respective tenures as Palace manager Glasner's are far superior, with the bonus of actually winning something. He inherited the team Hodgson was taking down. Does this make him the better manager? Or worse? How does one quantify these things?

Roy was totally gone at the end of that season, mentally and physically f++++d, his age had caught up on him, he saved us the previous season from that other buffoon Vieira, should have quit then.

Hodgson might be well travelled, but he won nothing of note in his career - you mention managing England and Liverpool but he failed drastically at both jobs.

Glasner, despite managing for a few decades less, has already won an FA Cup and 2x European trophies.

Different class is right.

A tad harsh on Roy.....He nearly beat the mighty Iceland!!

Roy may not have won ‘anything’ but he kept us in the Premiership for four years with next to or little investment with anaging squad…

It was only aging because he refused to play young players. He wanted to drop Eze and I suspect he was overruled! 19 year old Olise was lucky Vieira was manager when he became fit enough to play and was established when Roy had him for the final 10 games of the season. Yes he kept us in the EPL for four years, which was the minimum expected, but he left the Club in a worse position than Vieira had.

I’m merely commenting that not many managers of this generation could have done the same or survived without losing there job..

I'll applaud him along the touch line. Under him we had real success that actually mattered and that will live with us forever. If I never see another game, under OG I saw us win the FA cup and a European trophy!

We will probably never know what really went on leading up to his fallout with SP and the club. somehow it got put right and he finished his contract. His final bow taken at that European final.

I think he thought he would get a top club after us. But his actions with us most likely scuppered that. I don't blame him for going to Forest as it became obvious that is probably his ceiling.

Each to their own but I will applaud and remember the great times with him on Sunday.

He is a born Liar, all the cobbler's he said in the interview with the Guardian, "i have never lied" he told all and sundry that he and Parish were going to have a meeting about a new contract in March, having already told Parish in October he was leaving, the bottom line is he had very good players at Palace, THEY won the trophy's, despite his pathetic tactics, now the true Gleasner's quality as a manager is coming out, rubbish, if either manager loses this game i think they are in danger of losing their job, Gleasner's 17.5m a year maybe a bitter pill for Merry Knickers to swallow, COYP, show us your strength, Pierre.

What reception do you think glasner will get on Sunday?

I hope a warm one and applause and then hope we beat them.

Apparently even Steve coppell got a good reception when he came back with Brighton?
Didn't we repeatedly fire Coppell despite the fact he seemed to be doing his best, whereas Glasner possibly f**ked off for his own career? Not saying we should boo Glasner, just the Glasner/Coppell comparison in this case might be apples and oranges.
