Yes, McAhuna’s post at #6769 outlining the Legal Definition of Genocide, as defined by the UNGC was incorrect and omitted a vital and required element; either the word ‘protected’ or their full definition, ‘In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group’.

McAhuna was either intentionally selective or just unintentionally wrong, either way it’s not helpful. It does however offer some explanation as to why expressed views and conclusions are often so wide of the mark.

He posted the actions but not those it applied to and importantly did not apply to.

Why not just say you didn't mean to include it?

Yes, the testimony of journalists who have reported from numerous war zones is obviously part of the evidence.

No doubt you’ll give me the secondary school explanation that journalists can be biased or imperfect sources. But for the grown ups, that doesn’t make their testimony worthless , it makes it one piece of the evidential picture.

You know, like in a trial, where evidence that proves little or nothing in isolation can still be relevant when considered alongside other evidence and used to build the overall case.

I thought maybe a lawyer analogy would help you.

So basically your journalist evidence will be coming from Palestiunians and others allowed by Hamas .

You are missing the whole point, I hope deliberately rather than stupidly.

The banning of journalists was for operational reasons which I can see from a military perspective, but your attempted deflection does not change the flaws in your narrative.

That's all for now, more interesting things to do so you have plenty of time to come up with some kind of valid reason why the journalists in Gaza during the war would be suitable in any investigation.

I would not believe everything the IDF PR guys say either by the way.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ), recognize Palestinians as a distinct national group.
Therefore, they fall within the definition to which the term Genocide can be applied.
