Ismaïla Sarr

If he's downed tools & giving it large on some BS injury is there no option to withhold his salary for breach of contract ? If not we're better off getting shot otherwise he's no more than an expensive ornament if not giving 100%

Selling Sarr would be absolutely crazy. I can’t believe anyone is advocating for it. He’s our main goal scorer. Indeed he’s the only forward we’ve had who has played constantly well in the last 18 months. We’ve just sold our only quality centre back (Lacroix) and our main provider of assists (Munoz). Now you want us to sell our best remaining player?

What good is £75m if you get relegated? The cost of relegation is way more than that. Sell Sarr and it would take a miracle to keep us up.
Selling a Sarr who has played his skin out in the hope of getting a move to a top club at 2+ times the salary or keeping a disgruntled Sarr who plays up for the remaider of his contract maybe the only two options. It's great to stand on principles, but I'd leave that to clubs who wouldn't have a chance of relegation. In this new world, the recruiting team is the most important part of the club and I fear we do not have the talent there

Although I don't want to lose him it does feel like it's not a great situation for the team.

We already had stroppy JP. It feels like a club can cope with one baby throwing their toys out of the pram but to have two doing it isn't great. Especially as they're both technically starters in the team when fit.

Had Liverpool bid earlier in the window I think most fans would have wished Sarr well, but the way it's all played out doesn't make anyone look good. Another depressing transfer story tbh.

I'm glad a least Eze and Guehi managed their exits with a bit of class!

They move for the same reason the players move.

Everyone's a money whore.

Some might just wait a season longer than another.....but we do it to smaller clubs and bigger clubs look to do it to us.

They did but as an extra bonus managed to piss off Spurs and Liverpool on their route out of the club

Looks like ssn doesn't expect any more incomings at liverpool today.

It's might be disappointing for Sarr but they didn't really want him, he was second or third or even further down their list

Liverpool just having a punt that for some reason we'd let one of our last remaining proven top level PL players go for a knock down price - the only way to make it happen was to unsettle the player

The whole thing was a ridiculous circus and Sarr should have known it was only a very remote possibility when he has 3 years left on his contract

Palace were clear weeks ago that Sarr would only leave for a fee 'well above the market price'

Probably just some Scouse revenge for the Guehi failed transfer last year?

Looked like they only came for him after having 2 bids for Mitoma knocked back.

They might not have even wanted him at all, just a tactic to soften Brighton's asking price.

Regardless. Salah was released months ago. They have had about 5 months to plan for that RW position.

Now we have a player who wants to leave, because their agent has been causing trouble. And he would have been telling Sarr that we are being unreasonable and blocking his dream move.
