For some reason, the powers that be allowed Bosman then capped spending by clubs and created a monopoly for the top 6 premiership clubs. Even Newcastle and Aston Villa are compromised by these rules. It feels like the powers that be want to io maintain the status quo and keep the big 6 teams powerful. Now players disrespect long term contracts, and frankly I feel sorry for us, Aston Villa and Newcastle having our best players poached while players go on strike. The game needs to change to correct this.

The 3 clubs you have mentioned have not won a trophy we have 3 and the ZDS 🫣, they have been relegated from the prem in resent times so they have been lucky , see how they get on now in Europe and lge this season . Brighton may find things tougher
If you want to create a level playing field in football the only viable way would be to introduce a salary cap like in the NFL.
Challenge you’ve got is it would need to be Europe wide otherwise all the talent playing in England would just move abroad. You’d also potentially have to work out how it worked with lower leagues.

Seems Newcastle, villa and us have had our day in the sun for now. We got close the sun and our wings get clipped.
It's also a food chain. We do it to smaller clubs especially the best of the championship. Their fans would be thinking the same....will we ever get promoted if those premier league clubs keep poaching our players.

In the 34 years the Premier League has been in existence, there have only been 7 winners. Blackburn, when the spending regulations didnt exist and had a rich benefactor, Leicester which appeared a freak year, they have now dropped to League One. The rest are made up of the top 6 clubs.

Indeed. If you go back over the last 40 years the number only rises to 9. This has been a problem for as long as modern football has existed

In the NFL the salary cap is a team total - for argument's sake say a club have $1 m a week and choose to give a star player $500k of it the others have to share what's left.
The whole league is set up to try and encourage competition; hence the draft system of the worst performing team getting the best player before the next season. Sometimes a coach's tactics will succeed or there may be an exceptionally good group of players but that's fair enough. Also all merchandising is officially NFL branded with the money shared out equally between clubs (except maybe the Dallas Cowboys who I think are, or were, treated differently).
One downside to their system is that teams are franchises so supporters could see their club move to another city.

Saw a number of £2.14 billion for the transfer window about 2 weeks or so ago. Think you can easily add another £750 million plus to that to get to over £3 billion. The worry with this amount of spending, teams like us could easily be squeezed out of the league, having to spend a kings ransom for garbage, which might already be happening 🥺

Another good thing about the nfl is their contracts are performance based, they'll sign these big 10 year non guaranteed contracts, so you might be on 50 million a year but you're now s***, you don't get picked, so your guarantee is actually only 1 million a year. But like others have said, it'll never happen in football.

I would love to see a full spending cap. Across the board for every single club. We would then see how good some of these big time Charlie’s that buy there way to wins did. What chance have the likes of us got really if Newcastle, the richest club in world football can’t keep there players.
That’s another thing. Get rid of these 5 plus year contracts. They mean nothing now. Of if a player signs a long term contract and then wants to leave there are huge penalties to pay the club that holds the registration. Release clauses can f*** off too… where did they come from FFS.
