Europa League 26/27

I've got my rangers shirt out lol
In all fairness, it'll be a massive fixture for us, im becoming so disillusioned with football, i can see myself starting to follow it at arms length in the near future. Im excited for the Europa and seeing us play against some of the biggest clubs across the continent has been a lifetime dream. So i hope we draw the biggest clubs possible. After this, alongside watching us win the FA cup and a European trophy, I couldn't really care if we're in the championship next season.

The computer decides - who knows what criteria UEFA put into the Algorithm
Here's the basics from Google AI

------

36 clubs enter the league phase.

Teams split into four pots of nine based on their five-year UEFA club coefficient rankings.

Pot 1 contains the highest-ranked clubs.

A team is drawn manually by hand from a pot.

Automated software instantly selects eight random opponents (two from each pot) for that club.

The computer also decides which of those eight matches are played at home and which are away.

The software ensures strict rules are met: clubs cannot play teams from their own association, and can face a maximum of two teams from any single other country.
Criteria the first: have this club sung an expletive song about UEFA? Yes? Away draw.

Eight opponents to be drawn. No idea how likely this would be, but my dream draw is as follows, in no particular order:

1. Celtic
2. AC Milan (legendary)
3. Olympic Lyonnaise (Textor Derby)
4. Torreense (proper minnows)
5. Lech Poznan (another trip to Poland)
6. Union Saint-Gilloise (Bloom Derby)
7. Olympiakos (Mafia Derby)
8. Celje

Okay, I admit, 7/3/6 are the ones I really want the most.

Here's a link to the confirmed pots

Usually in cup draws you want the easiest draw. This time, as these ties happen so incredibly infrequently, hopefully not but could be once in a lifetime, let's have the biggest teams we can get.

Although Torreense in Pot 4 have made headlines for qualifying for the Europa league despite being in the Portuguese second division - let's avoid them. Macclesfield still fresh in the memory.

Pot 4 has created a real 'group of death' possibility if a team were to pull Besiktas and Hoffenheim from Pot 4.

Easiest draw looks something roughly like

Alkmaar
Olympiacos
GNK Dinamo
Viktoria Plzen
Omonia
Celje
Torreense
Ararat-Armenia

Hardest

AC Milan/Juventus
Benfica
Rennes
Salzburg/Anderlecht/maybe Celtic away
Sturm Graz
Poznan
Hoffenheim
Besiktas

Both look relatively ok to me. You can see how a poor side like Forest would go far. This makes me realise we'll likely go quite far.

It's going to take a while for this 'show' to get to the draw

But if the Conference League draw, which follows, the same drawn out process as the Europa League draw the Brighton fans tuning in will have the pleasure of watching a compilation of Palace highlights en route to winning it last year
