Johnson, McNeil

I do think it was a last desperate attempt to Persuade Ollie to stay, but l very much doubt he ‘bullied’ SP into it, Glasner had made his mind up to leave long before then whatever we did

Funny that we have literally just done one.

No we haven't.

As I said before creative financing.

There is no such thing as a swap deal go and get educated on contract laws.

The other thing you are coming out with about OG bullying SP is ridiculous but what we expect from you this is the sort of thing you come out with complete nonsense like you expect from a child.

Even if it wasn't specifically to satisfy Glasner, having Ollie bang on about not having enough players and Textor banging on about Parish not spending etc will have entered the subconscious.

Option may have arisen and Steve just got his wallet out.
Yeah, add in that we were in free fall in the league, Mateta was injured, Sarr had been at AFCON, Nketiah’s fitness completely unreliable and we had literally nobody else who ever scored.

The season ended well, we didn’t go down and we won a European trophy… but if Parish was nervous he wasn’t the only one.

McNeil was ok, not great. Better than Johnson by a country mile, however. He made a few passes, a couple of runs - you knew he was on the pitch. That's more than anonymous Johnson would ever do. Johnson did nothing of note - came on for ten minutes and wasn't really in the game.

McNeil had some nice touches to progress the play.
He seemed to be stationed more on the right with occasional forays around the midfield.
This was presumably tactical, but I've always preferred him on the left from where his delivery can be very effective into the box.
For Everton, Dewsbury Hall scored with an excellent left footed cross shot and McNeil is more than capable of such an effort from a similar position.

His signing didn’t exactly fill me full of excitement, but I do remember him looking lively against us on the left for Burnley and Everton at Selhurst, I’m sure he scored against us? Or did I dream that ☺️

Do you really think, he uses his money?

McNeil known, as been stated, excellent left foot crosses, so we played him as an inside forward, on the right. 🙄

It does seem utterly bizarre. We have a World Cup winning (ok not much game time but still) winger who plays on the right and McNeil who’s best quality by far is his ability to deliver from the left. We also have a centre forward in JSL whose best quality is heading from crosses. We have a world class passer of the ball in midfield who needs time and space to operate.

Our response to having these assets is to play a system almost tailor made to nullify all of these qualities. Same last season where our Legaue form was awful and the system didn’t work. Honestly it’s like we asked an LLM to generate the worst tactics we could play.

I hope Sage changes it fast
