Glasner to Forest

This is very good point. It’s actually clever by the liar to get out while the getting out keeps his stock high. The success glosses over the fact for large parts of last season we were dog s*** bad. And any other occasion (not being in Europe and with a good chance of winning) the Liar would have been sacked for his outburst let alone the dross and losing run we went on. Maracrackers will never put up with a 15 game loss. I can’t wait for it to implode.

Spot on Den.

I don't see OG as a 'League' and therefore long-term manager, as his career reflects. He's a tournament manager. He can bring Cup trophies but he can't balance that with the full time role. He comes in with very specific goals in mind, he has stated this intention himself - giving the fans 'moments'.

Was all more than worth it in the end, IMHO, but the week to week supporting of Palace was utter dross last season. You can't deny what OG delivered, was beyond my wildest dreams, however I think it's unsustainable. Therefore he almost has to move on to another job to try and repeat the same trick. I think any claims of it being a 'bigger' job are erroneous. I don't think that has anything to do with it.

Would OG win the Europa League with us and have a strong PL/FA Cup/League Cup season? Almost certainly not. Therefore, taking over at nearly relegated Nottingham Forest who haven't won anything in donkey's but have a large squad and a fat mess who throws money at everything, is a far better arrangement aligned to OG's personal style/career goals.

The conspiracy going around in my head at the moment is how long has OG known of the Forest interest in him ? Was he being lined up for this job in January when his silly little outburst took place ? I am still 100% certain that at the time he was trying to get sacked. Maybe Parish found out that Forest and OG were in discussions so chose not to react as most of us expected him to.

Nottm Forest bid for Mateta in January.

About Last October i would think, Conspiracy theory, Glasner didn't want to be in the Europa leage, knew Palace couldn't win that, but conference league is winnable, so we did, Glasner looks good, Fat guts is happy because he knows he is getting him.

Basically this is it, I’ve tried hard not to dislike Ollie over this, because it’s only us fans who are here for the long haul and have the love for the club. ALL managers and players are basically mercenaries they’re only here for a relatively short time compared to us fans and it’s their job.
I’d back parish all the way because he’s palace through and through and he runs our club the best way he can and he’s the same as the fans, here for the long haul, but despite Ollie’s public outburst throwing his toys out of his pram when the going got tough, none of us know what it’s like to work with SP and we all do feel that same frustration as Ollie with transfers and selling our best players. (Although some understand why)So he’s found a club where the chairman has a more scattergun approach where signings are concerned, but I know who I’d rather still have as our leader
I suppose if Ollie had been a s*** manager none of us would’ve been bothered how he left the club and where he went

He may have fancied a free hit at the Europa League that Forest were still in at the time. The more I think about it the more I believe he has had Forest lined up for a lot longer than he's letting on.

I'm not saying that forest weren't in contact with his agents but he was interviewed for both the leverkusen and ac milan jobs recently.

Perhaps a salary of a reported £14m pa, had something to do with it!!

What I have highlighted has been my opinion for quite some time.

got me thinking too, maybe he was angling to be sacked so he could walk straight into the forest job. Perhaps in January, Marinakis was thinking about ditching Dyche, and saw an opportunity to get OG in after (he was clearly unhappy), and approached OG. But OG being the greedy self serving feckwit he is wanted his dollar from us, so tried to get the sack. It backfired as SP wouldn't let him go, so they went for Vitor Pereira 'instead'.. until the summer.

What a bizarre statement. You could say that about almost every club. Preston has been a championship club for years now - let's deal with the actual and not what could be.

Are we a bigger club than Derby?

They have over the years more silverware than us and have a bigger ground and more support. However, they have been out of the Prem for years so their revenue will be a fraction of ours.
Currently we are a bigger club than Derby, however, if they do get back to the Prem and stay there that could easily change.
Look at Sunderland as a prime example of a team doing well after years of financial struggle.

Can we move on please.
Ooo lets.
You're right Preston have been a Championship club for years. Forest were one for over 20! And yes you could say that about many clubs (not almost every club though, thats a bit thick to say that).
So lets deal with the actual then. Forest have only come up a few seasons ago. Struggled last season. Have achieved nothing since promotion and have not been back in the top division very long.
Palace on the other hand? 3x FA cup semis, 2x FA cup finals, 1 FA cup win, 1x Community Shield, 1x European title, A bigger catchment area, a way way better academy, more international players, more England players.
What Forest achieved in the 80s (before many of our fans and there's were born) was amazing. So what? that has little bearing on today which brings me back to the comparison with Preston. A similar sized club in terms of fanbase to Forest. Preston have won 2x top flight titles and 3x FA cups so on that standard they are bigger than Forest domestically. Laughable

No you are being selective when did Preston North End FC ever win a European trophy let alone multi ones?

Never

Forest had won everything.
They only won 1x top flight title under Clough. They never won the FA cup under Clough. And he's the reason Forest are where they are today anyway. Take him out the equation and they are small than Wigan!
