Mateta to AC Milan?

Ruben Amorim is the new Head Coach of AC Milan and perhaps he has no interest in adding Mateta to his ranks.
Massimiliano Allegri was at AC Milan when Mateta almost signed for the club. Allegri has recently taken up the reins at Napoli.
I do wonder if he had the surgery? If so, nobody might want to take the risk. If not, nobody might want to take the risk. Not sure what that knee situation is.

At the end of the season when Mateta was being subbed off I noticed he was icing his knee on occasion...

I thought he sought 'expert' French help & they said just needed rest as surgery wasn't necessary, that's why he was missing for all that time before end of season. He then went straight from winning the Conference League back to France & then went to the USA.
Seems all a bit strange. He seemed to desperately need it before. I'd suggest this could be World Cup expediency. I don't think anyone's going to buy him due to it. Except maybe Forest.

well clearly we don't know and any comment is purely speculation, however, Mateta was strongly linked to Man U when Amorin was manager and Amorin only plays 3421.

So a Mateta like forward leading the line is ideal for that formation.

Napoli have Lukaku for 1 more year, so he won't be going there.

A motivated and fit Mateta is by far the best man to lead the line than anyone else in the current squad or anyone we could possibly afford. It’s as simple as that……
