Some religious groups oppose any ban on conversion therapy, and warn that it would infringe on traditional religious teachings, including the belief that sex outside a heterosexual marriage is sinful.

"Those who carry out conversion practices - commonly known as "conversion therapy" - could be jailed for up to five years under landmark new plans."
Surely mutilating children or even adults is also conversion therapy and should get the same punishment? 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
