The Politics of 'Climate-change'

Because it's comparing apples and oranges - a news helicopter covering a one off event is not equivalent nor comparable to millions of individuals making daily/regular journeys in their car.

Climate policy is about reducing the biggest sources of emissions across society, not pretending every single activity must have identical rules nor that nothing which causes emissions can ever take place.
The absurdity of having helicopter coverage of that train is almost beyond words, compounded by the reason.

In bold, yes, nothing wrong with Emma Thompson donning protest chic and flying across the atlantic to attend a climate rally in London.

We miss the point with these zealots, it's about doing as they say, not as they do.

If those responsible for the other 99%+ don't join in then it matters a bit.
Statistically, yes. Of course.

However, very bad things have been allowed to happen when they could have been stopped because X claims that Y isn't doing anything so why should we.

Even if you are a lone beacon in a sea of short termism, do it anyway. Others will follow.

Big money does not like Green. It has high upfront cost and poorer immediate returns for them. Hence the fake news of climate change denial, pro fossil fuel lobbying etc. However, there will come a time when fossil fuel will begin to run low and be more expensive to extract. Do not be surprised if the media skepticism evaporates as big money sees a threshold is crossed when the margins for Green exceed those of fossil fuel.

Meantime the country is losing manufacturing because of the high energy costs, data centre companies are well aware of this

I don't think many here deny climate change. It's more the politics of it that includes taxing us more and then the double standards of the elites lecturing us, while taking their private jets and boats around the world.

Sure, but that's no excuse to do nothing.
