The one I had highest hopes for was Tommy Black
He had a proper purple patch where he was scoring every week
His colleague at the time, Julian Gray, was lazier if I remember rightly.

Tommy Black played brilliantly just before we gave him a new contract then he played awful. Mercenary.
Gray was a bit lightweight.

We actually felt sorry for him the stick he was getting, because it was a tough job having to replace Doris, so my mate nicked an old bed sheet from home and we made a banner “The Brian Bason fan club” I think it lasted one game 🤣
