Let’s see what happens. It probably only takes 9 people to do that to the odds and we were said to be talking to Topmoller who’s out of work and wouldn’t need loads of compo paying. To be fair I am astonished that we’re scratching around when we knew in October we’d have to find a manager. That’s the joke here.
It isn't a joke at all, it's what happens when prospective managers don't know whether we will be in Europe or not, how much money they will have to buy players, which players are staying etc etc. Most prospective managers hold their own fire to see what becomes available and which club has the best prospects to enhance their reputation. How sick does Alonso feel today?

Parish and others will of course have been scouting managers for months, will have a short list, but cannot just appoint people without their agreement. If you wanted an "instant appointment" we would have ended up with Dyche.

Which would be fine, but this sort of thing happens a lot at Palace - whether that be panic buying at the very end of the window, losing a manager in the first place or this. So, yes, to me it is a joke.

If we get to August and we haven’t appointed anyone that will be a joke. At this stage it isn’t. When I recruit a role at work I will have three or four people who could do the job and I am talking to. This will be no different.

I get that but this is slightly different. We have players we need to retain and who will have their heads turned. Without a manager with a plan will make it harder to retain the talent. Given that we are alleged to be talking to two out of work Managers in Topmoller and Frank I wonder what work has been done. Having said that, of course, I do take the point that we need to make the right decision but Lampard and Southgate (a couple of the names mooted) really aren’t it.
I probably just get sick of all the rumours etc and hope we didn’t put all our eggs in Iraolas basket.

I guess it’s not just Glasner leaving. He will no doubt take with him his coaching team - as seems to be the case when bosses depart.

Just wonder where this leaves Paddy McCarthy? He wait and see who is appointed or already looking for a new challenge??

Fortunately most of our key players will be focusing on the World Cup for the next few weeks so as long as we get an appointment in the next 2 to 3 weeks things should be OK.

Any of them versed in organising a flat back four?

Slots gone, may mean Harryola to Liverpool. Not too stressed as we are an attractive proposition for any ambitious manager. Also even if Arsenal loose tonight it has become clear that in Europe the Premiership is on a different level financially and offers the best chance for success.
