Some supporters might be concluding that we would be going from a manager who has delivered THREE trophies for us to a manager whose only success has been in Luxembourg and was relieved of his duties at Eintracht Frankfurt at the start of this year.
On the flip-side, it could be argued he had success at Frankfurt. Not all success means lifting a trophy, we know that well enough from the "pre-Oli" days. I would say his 3rd placed season was a success.

Bayern and Leipzig too, how much can be attributed to him as assistant, are not bad records to have. It wasn't the most amazing of Bayern eras, but it is three trophies and a lot of wins.

Don't seem to have a plan, do they? Glasner was a definite project, this looks like just the next face.

I can see another temporary stint for Roy to keep the ship stable.

😎

TBH I'd never heard of Oliver Glasner beforehand.

Three trophies later, not far off £100mil spent in Jan and it being public knowledge months ago the manager was leaving, I'm gonna relax with a bit of faith!

The club has known since the autumn that Glasner was going.
I'm sure we've been sounding out replacements since then.
There have been variables in that 6 month period e.g new managers could have become available, would we be a Premier League Club at the end of the season, would we be in Europe.
We have those answers now.
Perhaps conjecture on my part, but one would assume it won't be Thomas Frank as he's been available for a while.
Bournemouth have acted swiftly to replace Iraola, but that doesn't tend to be the Palace way.
Part of me thinks Parish would like to appoint an ambitious younger British manager like McKenna or Lampard, but whether they would be available or whether the club would want to pay hefty release clauses is another matter.

According to Google McKenna has an £8 m release clause. Lampard's isn't known but is believed to be "substantial". It depends on how we view the appointment - £8 m for a player wouldn't raise many eyebrows but when managers become available so regularly from here and Europe, not forgetting Wenger came from Japan, Steve might want to spend the money on the squad.

Hopefully, you're right.

I think we just have to trust Parish. Overall his appointments have been pretty solid based on our situation at that time.

Hodgson, Allardyce and Pulis stabilised us. Glasner took us to the next level.

I know nothing about Toppmöller but, after a bit of reading, it seems he goes between a 4-2-3-1 and 3-4-2-1, plus learnt under Julian Nagelsmann as a coach which is pretty solid. 3rd in the Bundesliga is a great effort as well.

If we end up with him let's see what we can do. I just don't want Lampard, Southgate or Dyche. If we're going to appoint a domestic coach, would rather try McKenna.

I think as Champions of Europe , Crystal Palace might be now be able to attract a very high standard of Manager. Guaranteed European football next season, unless UEFA ban us for Mateta's kick of the corner flag. 😀

Parish is astute in his appointments, waiting until the Euro Conference was decided puts us in a stronger position regards recruitment, now Europa League participation is confirmed.
Iraola is off to Germany, I think your right, it will be Lampard or McKenna.

If we cant have Iraola i would rather have Frank, at least he has Premier league experience, Tottenham and Chelsea are lost causes.
