I'm not someone who supports prosecuting soldiers, because I know what happens when you put people into life and death situations. It comes down to leadership from the top down.

I will say is that holding to certain principles should be a central core of what your military is and how it sees itself......Unlike some I can think of I'm not a supporter of the ends always justifies the means....A good way of discerning that can be if you support the nuking of Japan in 1945 because it ended the war.

Anyway, there are always different options and I think both on Ukraine and Iran wrong ones have been pursued.

As we know there are many parts as to why those options were chosen and how we got here.

Yes of course my comparison was broad sweep but it was a clumsy means of crow barring in the point that there are always options.

And there are also decisions.

Israel probably had to attack Gaza after the Oct 7 atrocity but most folk with a brain realise there came a point when proportionate response morphed into ethnic cleansing.

Nobody forced them to attack Iran. And they would not have done so without full US military backing - another active decision.

Btw The other argument for the Bomb was that we might have been talking Russian if it had not dropped. Deffo one for another thread...
 
In the olden days, when the UN actually held some sway and NATO properly existed, I would like to see China, Russia, America (and Israel) tried for war crimes. (of course there are many others)

Now quite obviously Iran is a horrible place to live for people; but bombing schools full of children doesn't make it better.

How disingenuous can you get. The fact that Iran literally put a school building in the corner of a military base, and the missiles absolutely hit their targets too, not the school. But you try to say that the USA targeted and struck a school.

Show us where the shield was targeted? I see military targets with holes in the roof. In fact that damage is a bit weird, doesn't seem to fit with other surrounding damage, even the struck buildings are still there because it's a penetrator munition, but that school, just looks like some blasting at an angle that doesn't seem to match where the missiles struck.

I'm hearing claims that an F-15 has been brought down over Iran along with a Black Hawk not long after. Search and rescue mission in progress.
There are photos but that's no certainty in the modern age.

Didn’t realise the desalination plants provide 90% of the water in the region , Bomb them and it would be catastrophic for the Gulf nations ..
Iran also has a decent stockpile of weapons left according to Turkish secret forces despite what Trump says .
Need the people to rise up but unless other Arab states step up with military attacks and troops it’s not going to happen .

Most Iranian anti air is this.....comical in its way....reminds me of spears against tanks when Italy invaded Ethiopia.

But I have little doubt Russia and China, North Korea, Pakistan are smuggling stuff through....probably even manpads sold on the black market from Ukraine.
