I honestly think that we’ll get at a younger manager who will recognise what a good stable, supportive environment Palace can provide. I hope it’s Iriola. But wouldn’t be disappointed if it was Lampard.

I think we’re a very attractive proposition for any young manager.

With Coventry in pole position for automatic promotion (9 points lead with only 7 games to go) I would have thought Lampard would want to stay with the team he got promoted, although if that were the case & the promoted clubs struggle to adapt to life in the PL he may regret that choice by the time December comes around.

He really needs his next prem job to be a success, or he's at risk of being completely written off as a PL manager. Is a newly promoted team suitable - even if he's the one that got them promoted? Scotty Parker and Vincent Kompany both showed that even if you rock the championship, life in the PL is a different story.
But I don't want him here either.

No way!
Lampard is another Neil Warnock in that he is amazing in the Championship. A complete failure in the Prem. If Coventry stick with him next year they'll be cannon fodder.

Agreed. His interview after we beat Everton 4-1 in the cup was memorable for his level of dickheadiness, if that is a word.
Him or Dyche would be equally bad but for different reasons.

If the following is true, is Palace planning for life in The Championship?

It wouldn’t surprise me if Frank was our next manager. Wouldn’t be my choice but will support him

Iraola was my first choice but I always thought it was a bit of a long shot. We would be a sideways move for him really, from one mid table team to another. I'm sure he thinks he's proven himself at this level now. Why risk doing it again at palace?

Also, whoever comes in will not have an easy task at all. Whatever transfer business we do this summer, the squad will not be anything like as good as the one Glasner inherited. We do not currently have future Bayern Munich and Arsenal no10s in the side, or a future first choice England and Man city centre back. We also don't have good journeymen reaching unexpectedly high peaks, or the same momentum. Whoever comes in will be looking to forge a team from lesser parts. Difficult to see how expansive football is on the agenda. For all the talk of how Glasners system is ill suited to the current squad, this is a very modestly talented group overall. They will need a system that makes the whole greater than the sum of its parts, rather than to be let off the leash

Given this, I suppose the talk of Dyche and Frank makes sense, especially if we are determined to have the new man in post early on. There is a clear logic to prioritising someone who is available immediately and will sign up early, even if it means potentially missing out on someone more appealing who might come up later in the summer, once other doors have closed.

I have little reason to think it will be pretty.

Little unfair went to Chelsea wasn't allowed new players so he had a season and abit with the same squad got them FA cup final didn't finish to bad in the lge 4th , a little harsh comparing him with warnock , would he be my first choice no , but if all else fails not a bad one to have , he has been learning his trade and can always ask uncle Harry for advice

Lampard is doing well at Coventry, if they are promoted there's no reason why he would move elsewhere.
I note that the managers on the list at the top of the thread have all failed in one way of other, so it's a bit of a merry-go-round. At least Spurs offer employment to all and sundry every few months mwahaha!
As for Palace we'll know in a few months, it's down to the board, fans don't really get to choose and have to hope the chairman knows what he's doing.
