Bleedin larnaca...Match Thread

Well we got through. Good riddance Larnaca, what a ugly team to play against.

Good thing it's Fiorentina next, the Italians don't have a reputation for defending deep, diving or play acting do they?
It’s never easy in the Conference League. For the so-called minnows, a large chunk of their annual budget is often at stake in this competition. They’ll do whatever it takes to get as far as possible, fair play or not. In my opinion, entertaining matches are the exception rather than the rule. I’m just glad if no one gets seriously injured in the early rounds.

Bit off topic… but I notice that we now don’t have a game the 3 weeks then have 3 games in a week. Newcastle are not playing either the weekend of the FA cup… surely common sense says bring the Newcastle game forward. 3 week break then 3 games is absurd. I know it will never happen because the fools that run these things don’t give a s***
Its an International break.

Well....at least we won.
28 attempts at goal.
Sarr and Mitchell did well...but not much else to shout about.
A bit of encouragement for Pino though in a busy display where it's evident he has something to offer in a less restricted role than just being stationed on the left.

To those who never wanted to see Mateta in a Palace shirt again I'm afraid there's some bad news.
Larsen is now suspended so presumably Mateta will play next time around.
The thing to shout about is we won. It's knockout football, often not pretty, but anything can happen!

The way this contest is going we may get 15 more chances, score three goals and 12 penalties and lift the cup in Strasbourg or whichever city FIFA have been paid to hold it in.

Yes but what on earth did that match have to do with football. EUFA experience almost totally negative, cheating dominates , referees conned. Fans spend a fortune getting there to supoort the team, and also the EUFA gravy train which is a Mega con. Great that Larnaca eventually got their just desserts, but we had to suffer 210 minutes of cynical diving, fouling and frustrations first. Again I ask what did that have to do with football? But yea we are through, congrats to the team and the away supoort and to Oliver Glasner our best ever manager..Heres to three trophies and out! And may be some decent football before end of season like the end of last two seasons!
