Immigration

My brother moved to Denmark, he's now fluent in Danish. My cousin went to Cyprus, speaks Greek, a mate of mine went to Greece just for work for a few years, learned Greek. Cousin in law's moved to France, now speak French.

People learn to get on and succeed. If you import whole communities, put them together , and give them benefits and language support, they don't need to learn in order to live, so they don't learn.

These language and culture barriers are not a strength.

My dad is retiring to Spain in 3 years and he has started Spanish lessons.

I speak French and have never lived there. A one person case study isn’t evidence, poppet.

This from the man whose's preferred politics spouts 'believe all women' and 'lived experience'.

When it suits the argument it's common sense and when it suits it's the above.

Idéologie incohérente.

You can't despise what the uniparty and especially the commie left have done to this country enough.

They have blood and rapes on their ideological hands.

Your simplistic attitude is no answer to any genuine problem.

Do you seriously think our government, or any previous government, are willingly colluding in this?

It has nothing to do with ideology and only to do with the need to find practical solutions to problems with our friends and partners. Problems that have so far proved insoluable.

All the faux outrage in the world won’t deliver answers. Only quiet diplomacy and steady determination will ultimately change things.

Yes.

We've tried that and it is not working.

I'm guessing the recent explosion of comments on this thread is from Jim Radcliffe's comments.

What I find amazing about what he said; is here we have a billionaire business man who quite clearly is very intelligent, using a word like colonialism in the wrong context.

These are words I would expect from someone well meaning but a little ignorant.

The population growth in this country has caused problems, this is true - but I'd change "colonialism" to people coming here from foreign countries and not assimilating. That's not every new foreigner of course.

Radcliffe Has managed to divert attention away from Stamer and the epstein files and make those who share in essence his opinion look stupid.

Is Radcliffe a useful and knowing complicit person in dividing people by using bad English on purpose to express himself.

He also got the population growth figures wrong too.

If he had quoted the correct figures, then that would have made a good point as they are horrendous. However by completely getting it wrong he has discredited himself and possibly many others who have real concerns over immigration.

Correct. Fortunately we have a huge case study though. We have entire neighbourhoods not speaking English, all the shop signs in whichever country they are from.

Lesson numero Uno.
While in a restaurant , just after either a) receiving the meal you ordered or b) receiving the Bill.

"Eh, tu crees que yo soy Guiri o que ? ".......it must be spoken while raising one shoulder and elbow slightly.
The Spanish do Two Tier pricing for locals and Guiri Brits. And the mark-up in prices is enormous. Most Nigels & Sharons never even notice. And the Spanish know this.
