Next Manager?

I think Frank would be a safe appointment, not expecting anything too exciting there. Look at Brentford without him. He did a superb job to get them stable in the prem though.

Perhaps he will stabilise the club until the new main stand is built…….hopefully that is still happening.

I’d say he needs a break after his spurs nightmare. Something seriously wrong at that club behind the scenes. Makes me appreciate the culture Parish and Dougie helped create here

De Zerbi never had a stellar record at Brighton.
In his 1st season they were 4th after 6 PL games when he joined and they finished in 6th place.
They went out of the League Cup at Charlton on penalties but they did reach the FA Cup Semi-Final when they were defeated by Man Utd on penalties.
In his 2nd and last season Brighton finished in 11th place in the PL.
That's still pretty good for Brighton though

TBF to Frank, Spurs have an horrendous injury list.

Frank would appeal to me, but I'm no expert. I'm guessing there's a lot going on at Spurs, which Daniel Levy could see coming. I just had this hunch when Levy left in September 2025, that there was a storm about to hit.
I hope Frank is given time to complete the job at Spuds this season, to take them into the Championship.

**EDIT. Frank has just been fired by Spuds

I hope Frank is our next manager but after the battering at Spurs he probably could do with some time off first.

Meanwhile if I were Spurs and wanted OG it would make no sense to try and get him now. Better to appoint a caretaker for the rest of the season. If they do want him now Parish will make them pay.
Only counter argument is that they desperately need some experience to stop the slide. If they leave it in the hands of an interim manager they have a greater chance arguably of going down.

I'd personally like to see Thomas Frank come in as OG's replacement. Spurs always something of a poison chalice and Frank achieved well at Brentford. Some managers are better suited to managing teams outside of the so called big six. Would put OG in that category too.

I think, perhaps for the first time, the criteria upon which the new manager should be decided is whether he has a clear plan, possibly already proven to work elsewhere, to get value from the expensive group of forwards we have already bought.

Mateta possibly aside, those players aren't likely to be bought by anyone, certainly not for anything close to what we paid for them. I can't imagine there is much money left now to bring in anyone new, so a tune must be gotten from some combination of Larsen, Nketiah, Pino, Johnson, Sarr, possibly Guessand, maybe even Esse.

That suggests a front 3, perhaps with two wide and one central, rather than the current system.

The guy at Bournemouth would be my clear preference, just on the above basis alone.

As always in football, suitable faces start to emerge. Frank would definitely be a more stable option to Glasner. Frank's sacking should be a warning to Glasner if he is still in pursuit of a 'bigger' club. It's a different world at that level. Glasner's recent behaviour could well have burnt his bridges.
Hopefully we will be seeing clear light in the next couple of weeks and options will start to emerge.
But Glasner seems to have set his stall as 'one trophy and on' olé olé.

He has made a good job of trading that's for sure. No doubt options will emerge.

I very much suspect that many on HOL have concluded that my contributions can be filed under the above categories, hence I have given consideration as to whether HOL would be 'Richer' for my absence.
A barnacle parting company from the HOL boat.

I can't be the only person who spends less time here due to your constant attention seeking

We haven't seen or heard much from Steve Parish recently. What do I put that down to ?

Well. i heard from someone who knows a bloke down the pub, Parish has been seen taking his coaching badges. If you need a job doing,.... 😎
