I have seen Guessand play, probably 3 times, and to be charitable he was "Disappointing".
A.Villa signed him for £26 Mill rising to £30 Mill and I concluded that this was not money well spent.
Perhaps I never saw the best version of Guessand.

I read quite a lot of Villa fan comments about him. Although they describe him as pretty useless, they also thought he was being played out of position when he did get minutes and so it may be that he’s not entirely useless.

Which to be totally frank he was when I saw him play, I believe in 3 games.
It was mentioned on HOL that we were seeking to sign Guessand, I hadn't heard of any interest but mentioned that I don't receive a 'Running commentary' of developments. Seeking information, it was confirmed to me that we were indeed trying to lure him to the club and when asked for my opinion my message was as per my comments on HOL !
Hopefully he will perform much better for us than he did for A.Villa in the games I saw !!

Makes you suspect that a lot of the deals on deadline day are actually just confirming arrangements made earlier in the window and clubs leave it as late as possible to keep others guessing.
From watching his highlights reel (never the best guide admittedly) he does seem to have some skill and a willingness to go for goal. He looks pretty quick too and can play on both sides - maybe a more flexible formation will see some interchanging between him, Sarr and Johnson.
Fingers crossed this one works out.
