I don't hold any grudge against Mateta for wanting a move.
He's got his salary expectations which the club are unwilling to match.
While his footballing stock is high, that's the optimum time for him to get what will probably be the last big move of his career. All understandable from the players perspective.
But my question is why press for a move at this precise moment ? If he carried on and produced the goods for Palace until the end of this season he could wind up with a CL winners medal, his value would only increase which in turn would enable him to get his big move in the summer.
So I think this is as disrespectful to the club as Glasners recent antics.
Would the clubs lack of ambition be quickly forgotten if Parish offered him a £200k a week contract ?
