Sure Trump cares about Trump, but he isn't America and the deep state will be watching him and deciding if he is still acting in the best interests of the country. If he invaded Greenland and remained in power, or alive, then we know that we don't just have Trump to worry about.

One thing is for sure. Our best interests are not served by falling out with the biggest enemy of our enemies.

It would be great if we could any longer trust a Trump led US to be our well tooled ally, we can’t, the signs are he will feed us to the possibility of a Russian dominated Europe anyway. Every turn now exposes a contempt for NATO.
We shouldn’t have to appease him but we so far do ,l,m getting on a bit but that’s not the future we should look for.

Have said for some time - build up our own forces. It needed to be done already frankly. I'm not sure it's even possible now. Warfare seems to have moved on whilst projects that are already outdated haven't even been delivered yet. One parallel I can think of is when Britain did build the planes for fighter command - they were the cutting edge but the decision was only just on time. And it was only a couple of years before the war.

Yes Europe needs to arm itself, stop appeasing Donald. Europe has never really had a problem arming its self , until the last seventy years. It’s us that have never armed our selfs properly for centuries.
No one is going to confront the US militarily. Even if Donald invaded Greenland.
But NATO will be over if he did. Right up Putins street. Unless of course we appease our so called friend, please Donald no more tariffs?

I could not care less about Bidens ratings . But Putin decided to invade Ukraine, not Biden or our Tory government and every NATO country that has constantly risked war with Russia., Putin did. Putin merely said ignore what I do, or you lose your gas, not unlike Donald ignore what he does or get bombarded by sanctions , and if you want to push it lose your best ally.

Glasner has fecked his mate Woody Johnson off bigtime with his comments about the board not backing him and Austria are now going to get 40% tariffs imposed on all their exports into the USA in retaliation .

He owes the country a more detailed explanation as to why Labour have given away a valuable military asset .
Trump might be contrary over many things but it doesn’t stop his views on this deal being spot on .

Trump can change his mind , That’s what people want him to do over Greenland for example and by the same token Starmer can do the same , Do you never change your mind ?
I’m certainly open to be persuaded that the Diego Garcia deal is great but nothing I’ve read or heard is remotely persuasive .
