Glasner Out

Interesting point. I have a friend who had a massive brain injury and he's never been the same. Can be incredibly angry sometimes. Would never have thought about it with Glasner. Does put a different angle on it.
I know i am opening myself up for ridicule here, but in 2018 i caught Bacterial Meningitis and was in a coma for 12 days, my wife fought for me, and i woke up, i have lesions on the brain and i have to take a lot of medication, i cannot spell at all, thank good for spell checker, i never drank for 6 years, now i have the odd beer or glass of wine, but the medication i will take forever, and you have periods of rage and then almost completely relaxed, it goes with the damage to the brain, but when you support Palace every game is a trial.

Wow sorry to hear that buddy , sounds like you nearly didnt make it ! I'd have to give up Palace it does my head in most of the time , never a dull moment and just when you think everything is going fine the poop hits the fan in some way or another . By the way do you remember that 500 euro i gave you the loan of in 2017 .

No ridicule from me Lanzo but it does shed a different light on some of your more entertaining posts and maybe affords you a greater degree of understanding of Glasner’s rants. That being said I don’t think we can blame Glasner’s obsession with 3 at the back on his brain injury so feel free to continue criticising him.

Oliver Sacks might follow up his book The Man who Mistook his Wife for a Hat with The Man who Mistook Devenny for a Wing Back. Or The Man who Mistook Palace for PSG.

I don’t know. I think it was calculated. He said the same thing in different interviews yesterday. It wasn’t just a spur of the moment emotional reaction.
It was, of course it was. He obviously would look stupid if he backtracked in later interviews. He had no choice but to double down on what he'd already said

If we take him at his word, he had no idea it was happening until 10am the same day.

If you are involved in the negotiations, how can that be possible?

Yes, most premier league clubs usually they do involve the manager in the negotiation, even to this day. It’s not so long ago the manager used to facilitate the entire negotiation on his own.
Because he is involved in incoming transfers not outgoing ones?

I suppose an option was to say that he had nothing further to add and his focus is preparing the team for the game on Sunday !!
There are those with whom I have been in conversation with an hour ago who do not believe that Glasner will be in situ until the end of the season.

Not good.
I looked at a poll of Palace fans with 80% wanting him gone now.
He's about as popular as Starmer.
How many fans were polled? Often they can be very misleading as those that vote are usually only the angry ones that want him gone whereas those that are happy for him to carry on cant be bothered with it.

I am contemplating how supporters might express their opinions.
A cacophany of boos when he exits the tunnel ? Anti-Glasner chants ?
Its not helpful is it? The players aren't deaf. They need support and positivity if we're going to turn things around.
Boo him at the end, Before and during the game lets get behind them!

The man has been demoralised by his time at Spurs. He needs a long break before he is ready to go again. Maybe in the summer but not now.
I dont believe Frank is a good fit for us but I'd also say the current regime at Brentford has proved their current ongoing success has less to do with the manager and more to do with their recruitment and style of play policy. This is really what Parish is trying to implement so that when the manager leaves, the new guy that comes in (has to be experienced and competent) he will not find it too difficult to pick up the ball and run with it so to speak

He made his bed.....fans are right to be disgruntled.

He's buggering off.....Parish isn't buggering off.

Why ask for loyalty when you get none....I won't blame fans for being pissed off.

If Glasner doesn't want boos he better stop whining and start winning......He gets paid millions.
I agree to some extent but I think we owe him a level of respect in view of what he has given us. I dont really care if anyone else agrees with that. Its how I feel. He made me a grow man burst into tears at the final whistle when I laughed off the possibility before the game.
I will never forget that moment. Oliver Glasner gave us that. No one else. The players would not have achieved it without his tactics and direction.

It's hard to know whether the club genuinely want Glasner to stay, or whether this is a game of brinkmanship. If it's the latter, then we have to hope one side blinks quickly. The fact Glasner supposedly had a meeting with Matt Hobbs after Saturday's rant, rather than Parish, says a lot. However badly Palace manage this the club will continue, but if Glasner isn't professional then it could be career suicide. He's given us so much in such a short time that I'd be genuinely saddened if he left under a cloud, but can he really continue?

I can only speculate as I am not furnished with the salient facts.
I suspect that Glasner was aware of the prospective move of Guehi to Man C but what irked him was the fact that he was informed on Friday that he would be unavailable for the Sunderland game the following day. He was expecting Guehi to play then at the 11th hour was told he could not be included.
We all know sometimes its difficult for the owners. They may have agreed most of the deal with City and were expecting it to all go through on Monday (him being our player till then) but if City were to agree what we wanted then suddenly said 'oh, by the way. Deals off unless you pull him from your squad this weekend'. Sure Parish could have told them to do one but then we'd be stuck with a player who has TWICE seen his big move collapse at the 11th hour. Not going to get a 100% committed Marc Guehi after that!

He delivers our first ever two recognised trophies in our history and the very first sign of any issue you want to dump him? Wow
I was all for keeping Ollie despite results.
I'm also a big fan of Parish but recognise he should have added numbers in the summer.
BUT I really liked humble Ollie, loved his honest, polite press conferences, loved his warmth towards the players.
Today I want him gone. I was at Wembley and will cherish that win forever and love him for that forever... but the way he criticised the benched players was too much. Call out the chairman if you must but not the ability of young players.
If he still had 2 years to go, I'd think 'fine, let's repair the damage' - but he's gone in May anyway.
It feels wrong having him here.
We're like a divorced couple who have to live with each other until the house gets sold.
It's all very sad, all very Palace.
Probably best to move on..

This isn't just a dodgy run of form or 'any issue' though, it's clearly much more than that.

If he wanted to stay at the club and sign a new deal, I think 99% of the fans would be completely supportive regardless of the bad run.

However, this is ten games without a win including a couple of shocking results. It's a refusal to adapt his system despite mounting evidence that it simply doesn't work without Munoz. It's repeatedly criticising the owners publicly. Announcing that he's leaving the club the day before a game despite criticising the board for the Guehi timing being a destabilising factor.

My ideal outcome here is that they patch it up and he stays. But it feels like at the moment he is almost trying to force an early exit and, if so, I don't think it is unreasonable for fans to feel pissed off.

We are within our rights to want people at the club who want to be here and, frankly, at the moment it seems pretty clear that him and Mateta want out which is very disappointing.

I totally understand from a club perspective. We were open to Guehi departing in January for financial reasons.
I believe that what irked Glasner was that fact that he was immersed in training drills at set-pieces with Guehi of course very much involved, but was then informed that he was unavailable to play the following day. This just added to his discontent about the strength of the squad.

You are entitled to your opinion but I completely disagree with you
