FA Cup 3rd Round Macclesfield

Apologies if this is posted elsewhere & not sure how much truth there is in it, but it's being reported that Palace's 1500 away ticket allocation is going to be donated to Macclesfield bringing them in a much needed 40K (Pounds)
I don't think it quite works like that. Don't the home and away team split the whole of the net gate receipts down the middle ? That would make our contribution to Macclesfield much larger.

The weather is due to warm up several degrees by the time we play them. No issues.

actually some snow (not sure how much or exactly where) is expected in the region late Thursday and/or Friday so if there is a big dump it might cause problems.

Macc are a non league club with limited employees - the pitch is being cleared by volunteers! They don't appear to have a cover with can run into thousands £ for a decent one.

They have got tonight's game on though so that's a positive.

Gate receipts are split 45% each (10% to FA) after VAT and costs are deducted.

I suspect our generous gesture is c£40k to £50k extra to Macc based on 5k at £30 (less VAT and expenses)

The Buxton area (close to Macc) has it's own weather system i can assure you. I have lived up here for the last 25 years!!!

Snow is predicted for tomorrow and/or Friday. How much and where who knows.

Locals ignore national weather guides - use this one instead, far more accurate.

I'm in the Buxton Palace Hotel at least once a month for 2 or 3 days, the company I work for is based in Buxton.

it's a bit run down these days - maybe see if you can get into the refurbished Spa hotel opposite the Opera House!

A lot of the rooms at the front of the hotel have been refurbished & finally the lift works properly so its not too bad - also very cost effective, if I go on booking.com the Buxton Palace is usually about £20 a night cheaper than alternatives, (Circa £60-80 Per night) the Ensana Crescent spa hotel is indeed very nice but its often more than double the price, with my boss also staying in the Buxton Palace (he comes down from Leeds every week) I need to have a good excuse to stay in other hotels.

I have tried others in Buxton, when they have offered good rates, the Vault in the high street is good, in terms of the quality of the rooms, bit noisy late at night being in the high street & directly above a pub -
