Many left wing M.P.s are objecting to any reforms on welfare, labour has had this issue since its inception,(Keir is a moderate to right wing within Labour) So they are trying to use their muscle in the budget not really much to see here.Look up the footage of Barry Gardiner spouting off last night. A bloody good indicator that there are moves afoot to replace Starmer, and by default, Reeves.
This is no paper talk. Now, whether something comes of it, who knows, but there is clearly the mood music around this being a serious push against Starmer.

Whoever it is has to manage the debt and our gilts are the most expensive in the G7Exactly. They'd be creamed in the GE.

Clearly inside her head now
Farage knows that she has acted on immigration leaving him with nothing to bleat about, even harsher immigration rules would mean breaking international treaties and the U.K. becoming a pariah state.Fourteen years of Tory rule produced nothing on Immigration whatsoever!
She may well need the Tories and Reform to get her legislation through Parliament against her own backbenchers. Even then people are already pointing out big holes which asylum seekers may exploit.Farage knows that she has acted on immigration leaving him with nothing to bleat about, even harsher immigration rules would mean breaking international treaties and the U.K. becoming a pariah state.Fourteen years of Tory rule produced nothing on Immigration whatsoever!
Yes I think the vote will tell us an awful lot I imagine the Tories and Labour will mainly vote for and the one Green M.P. and the Reform M.P.s will vote against. Perhaps Starmer smashing the gangs his own discontent M.P.s as you have mentioned the whips office will have a bit of a job.She may well need the Tories and Reform to get her legislation through Parliament against her own backbenchers. I do wish her luck because we can't afford to wait for another 4/5 years to get a new government to address the issue. However before anyone starts crowing or bleating lets see if her plans work. I'm still waiting to see Starmer smash the gangs.

If It goes through with the rump of the Tories voting for it and becomes accepted as a panacea for "all immigration ills" it will sink Farage's boat pardon the analogy irresistible.A valid point. Now whether the Court system actually allows any of these proposals to go through remains to be seen but what she is proposing is at least making a go of tackling the issues.
And for us Far-Right types, this also shows what we need to fear most. Because she has been able to do this due to her being a Muslim. Makes her immune from the usual left-wing bleating. Political Isalm is going to become a thing and it will be effectively given far more lee-way on the authoritarian stuff than anything the Right can come up with.
The progressive left have effectively hamstrung themselves with their phobia about any and anything that might have them labeled 'racist'. So they will just play along with it rather than opposing it.
Dangerous moment for us and should not be underestimated.

New red curtains for 10 Downing Street on delivery for 2030, I'm afraid we have spiked your gun and Farage is speechless and is now a rebel without a cause. 😆It's just another example of reality intruding on the Left's pipedreams - as it always does, sooner or later.

She hasn’t acted on Immigration yet! Let’s see if and when any of her plans are implemented. IMO they won’t be and she knows it but she will be able to swerve any blameFarage knows that she has acted on immigration leaving him with nothing to bleat about, even harsher immigration rules would mean breaking international treaties and the U.K. becoming a pariah state.Fourteen years of Tory rule produced nothing on Immigration whatsoever!

Introduce the plans as winter approaches when the number of dinghies crossing the channel will be lower and then claim the ‘success’ of the policies. This is not the Danish system that worked and nullified their own right wing party’s stance, so expect Farage to still lead the debate and forcing Labour to go further thereby causing Labour MPs to fragment even more. Maybe an enforced general election in 2027…She hasn’t acted on Immigration yet! Let’s see if and when any of her plans are implemented.
