Zavier Gozo?

I’m sure he has been primarily signed for his ability, but if there is a commercial benefit to signing Tomiyasu as a second Japanese player, I’d guess Gozo also has that in joining Chris Richards.

The fan base for the Premier League in the States has potential to grow and being part of that, with a developing talent from there can only help the revenue/wages challenges we will have if we continue to aspire to play in UEFA competitions.
Manure did that with their Korean player in the 1990s (Park ?)

He was not that good but seemed to get subbed on in very high profile champions League games in a naked commercial aim to expand far east fandom.

Let's do that too.

Makes sense as some clubs like Liverpool have become very popular in both the US and Japan. Japan so especially. Strangely enough, Brighton is currently the most popular club in Japan because of Mitoma.

One of the unique things about Gozo is that he is a Mormon and they have rarely had players in the Premier League (I'm pretty sure he's only the second). So I wouldn't be surprised if we become the most popular team in Utah (where there are over 2 million of them).

They just need to be able to perform or they are out the door, no matter how popular they are.
Do Mormons buy lots of replica shirts? 😉

Some do, a lot of them don't follow sports at all. I have some friends that are Mormons and they travel the globe going to different Mormon events.

And the entire church knows who he is as they are openly proud of the kid because he is a good representative for them. I wouldn't be shocked to see more fans from Utah showing up if he actually produces on the pitch.

Honestly, as far as American players go, I'm pretty happy with the the playing ability and the personality of both of ours. Unlike Japanese players that always tend to be team first because of their national style, you can get some American players (especially in other sports) who act like complete a-holes where you are embarrassed to be associated with their conduct. Neither of hours is going to embarrass the club off the pitch and just need to perform on it to make it work.

No.

They dig them up as they are buried in nearby hills.
Each is next to golden plates containing the writings of the book of Mormon.
The history of Mormons is the US is a fascinating story.

It is like the IRA starting its own religion and them eventually evolving into becoming super peaceful and polite.

Pretty much, except Ireland was spared the Osmonds. There are loads walking around Hong Kong, spotty kids with a badge that says " Elder "

So Brennan and ? JRS out on the right side and Gozo and Kalhaili in . Back up for Sarr .

I can cope with that .

At least one should work out and that’s better than at the moment …
Gozo, Kalhalili, Guessend....McNeill - none are actually over the line yet other than Dwight and we are still without a replacement for Max / cover in CM...hopefully we get the deals over the line and theres a bit of money left over!

Tomiyasu can play CB
That's his preferred position which he plays for Japan and played on the continent. However, given his injury record, I doubt he'll be a regular starter this season, certainly not this side of Christmas. I expect him to get some starts but I would also expect the club to manage his minutes carefully. If he's still up and running come the New Year, we might get to see him starting more games but he's not a Lacroix replacement, and, in any case, I think he prefers being one of the side CBs rather than the central one in a 3 man back line. There's no question in my mind that he's good enough to play RCB or LCB.

I can't imagine we will buy both this lad and Anan Khalaili, esprcially now we have bought Guessand back on loan.

For me Khalalli looks better technically and able to use both feet. Gozo, from what I have seen, seems to have a style that relies more on speed and getting a toe poke on the ball before the opposition. I don't think that is as suited for the Prem.
